X-Men '97

Forgot about the Storm/Wolverine pack going up for pre-order today. As someone who really only wants it for Storm, assuming I'm able to get an order in, does anyone want my Wolverine? 😅 No real attachment to the yellow/brown suit, if I'm being honest.
If no one has claimed, I’d take that Wolverine.

I pre ordered the set today with Wolverine and Storm, even though I feel like I have quite a few figures of both characters. But I can never pass up a Wolverine.

I swear though, it has a release date of November 1st. Everything that has gone up for pre order from Hasbro in the last 5 or 6 months has had an estimated arrival date of November 1st. For Marvel, Star Wars, and GI Joe (I'd imagine Transformers as well). November 1st is going to be expensive.
Feels like there's a tsunami of toys just heading for the States come the fall.

And we all know Hasbro delivers one to two months early most of the time. Maybe they scheduled one of the last barges to float before the tariffs go crazy again and just waited to fill it with ALL of their remaining 2025 product. Y'know, for Christmas.

Wish the Tbolts would release early somewhere I could actually get them. :(

Exactly I mean there are already reports that the last two MvC Gamerverse 2-packs are starting to hit. I’m not surprised whatsoever if the sentinel, the latest Iron Man two-pack and the X-men 97 wave drop in time for fall Geek-Out and Haulathonin late September early October

I wanna order it. I really do. But there is so much coming out over the next few months and all the release dates are subject to change. All that makes it so I shouldn't just to make sure I have enough for the rest. Hopefully it sticks around until alot of the other stuff comes out so I can make sure I have enough for it.

I have almost no interest in Storm, but it's that small percentage that is making me hesitate wanting to split the set with someone...

I just want Storm. Let’s make some magic together, hot stuff.

Imma try to draw the line at the characters in their 97 looks and not get them in their 97 retro looks and see what success I have there. So passing on this, Cyke and Jean, Jubilee, and Sunspot. That's the working theory. I know we're supposed to see double jointed elbows on the ladies and go into automatic rebuy mode.....it's just not enough to get me to go in one a two pack.

This post is dedicated to trunks on male superheroes.

I like what they did recently with with 97 Wolverine and 97 Magneto, sculpting the added parts of the trunks to the upper thighs. I think it adds more detail. I wish they would have done that with 97 Cyclops, both his single and his two pack release. You see what happens when you don't do that, and then drop that belt down as low as it will go....you get a severe banana hammock look.

Are you sure that’s a wise decision? Remember as of the season finale, the X-Men are split into 3 groups across time and space so at least for now, these classic costumes are the default look for season 2. Or at least the first half of season 2. And the mansion is destroyed so even when they come back to the mansion, we don’t know what outfits they will be wearing next . Though I guess it’s possible that as a precaution, Magneto clandestinely stashed away a small cache of the X-Men’s costumes, weapons, ammunition and even a blackbird and Cerebro aboard Avalon in the event that the X-Mansion were compromised.

I really hope these "classic" costumes are gone ASAP. I also hope we don't lose the default '97 looks - one of the reasons this version of the X-Men is so successful is because these looks lasted the entire run of the show. Hated watching them throw them away* and would hate watching them continue to throw them away.

*Rogue being the exception - her change makes sense. Storm regrowing her hair and magically changing her outfit is possibly the low point of 97 Season 1.

I think the Quietly costumes were far enough down the line in the development of Season 2 that they are unavoidable at this point.

No. I'm not sure of anything regarding this line. I'm not sure I'm keeping the wave 1 and 2 figures. I have all these looks in comic form.

That was a different time. Now they need to sell (and resell) $25+ action figures to adults which demand new* costumes every single time.

("New" as in, "we're branding these as 'animated' looks but they're the same costumes that have been around for 20, 30, 40 years and you've seen versions of these before in figure form and you will see versions of them again in figure form").
