Mortal Kombat Klassic figures by McFarlane Toys

Managed to get an order in for Kitana for pick up at a local GameStop. Says ‘in stock’ for pickup tomorrow so we’ll see. It’s a smaller, slower store so I can’t imagine it wouldn’t be ready later today unless there is some kind of street date they have to follow.

Don’t believe the pick up date this is still a preorder that won’t tender until 9/08/2025

I think I've decided to pass on these. They just don't look great, especially for what I'm going to have to pay for them.

Got an order at EB for everyone but the two pack, which was gone when as the clock rolled over.

Store says they can't even place orders for any of them in their system.

Blah. Mileena was my MK2 main, I need it.

What is this cut? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Just noticed my toilet paper has the same cut lines
That seems to be their standard in the DC line as well. I don't get it, the thing is hideous. It makes me think of the edges on a Reese's cup.

I love Mortal Kombat but these don’t look great. It’s tempting though since classic MK figures have been so expensive lately. I have a lot of the Storm figures, which are awesome. But so pricey that I don’t want to mess with them too much.

Storm Arena would be perfect for MK figures.

I’m still looking forward to these figures. I’ve pretty much collected every single MK figure line from a myriad of different companies since the 90’s with the exception of Mezco so I’m very used to the scale being whatever. I’ve collected the 3 1/4” line in the 90’s, the 5” and 10” toys from Toy Island, the 8” Infinite Concepts line, the 6” palisades statues, the Jazzwares line which was more true 1:12 scale and finally storm for both 1:12 and 1:6 scale….the scaling and mediums for these toys are so all over the map that is rare to even have MK toys that can be paired with each other much less be able to count on whether the next scale will be exactly what you want. It’s not my concern whether their figures are too big or too small. My only desire for a successful MK line is that when someone promises to go deep on the MK brand they hold themselves to that promise

I wasn't sure I'd get these, but I took a flyer on a couple. I honestly thought he was going to be charging Fallout character prices for them so the sticker shock pissed me off less than I expected. I'm with Tenime about wishing this scale would just die, but pitting Scorpion against a few DC characters on the shelf might be fun.

I mean, of course he went with Scorpion and Sub-Zero first because they're popular and easy repaints, and Kitana/Mileena first since they're 98% parts reuse first, but those aren't bad choices for a wave one set. I made a snap decision to get them while I was in a lull on the convention floor today. Might have changed my mind if I had more time to think about it but I had like, three minutes to say yes or no before stuff started selling out. (Not that we can count on Walmart shipping...)

It's crazy to me that in its almost 35 year history, Mortal Kombat really hasn't had that many toys when all said.

Sure, there's been a few lines, but of the ones you mentioned, none were really all that expansive. Most have been one and done. Some were incredibly difficult to find (Palisades and Infinite Concepts). The most fleshed out, and still incomplete at the end of the day, is Storm.

Jazzwares I feel like went a little bit deeper. They made figures for at least 4 games including Deception, Shaolin Monks, MK3 and MK9. But there were remarkably less and less high quality figures as time went by and serious lapses between each new game that came out. But yeah this is a property that needs more retail support and more money put behind it because it’s so rare to see a comprehensive line devoted to figures from this franchise. For me to be convinced that this toyline is fulfilling it’s promise to go deep is if we see characters from games like MK Mythologies or the two tv shows like MK Defenders of the Realm and MK Conquest

My Mortal Kombat Klassics have shipped. I will have them in hand tomorrow. I really tried and I cannot make the sentence work with a K wordplay at all. Are you kidding me.

I cannot wait to blast the techno song and turn my brain off with them.
