Star Wars Black Series

The Jedi Temple Guards are now supposed to ship tomorrow from Amazon. So, if you need/want one (or more) they are still available on Amazon. If you have him pre ordered, prepare yourself!

And Justice's damn Neurologist scaring Justice and all of us here with his crazy words and theories. Let's all go to his house and piss on his landscaping! (The Neurologist, not Justice.)
Yep, I woke up this morning to find mine is on it's way to me. I was not paying attention to that but not unhappy about it.

It's crazy, mine all say they'll be here Monday, but they haven't shipped yet lol. I order 3 of these guys. I needed more than one Guard. I don't know if you guys have ever noticed, but a lot of bad S*** happens at that Temple. It needs guards.

Got my guard in (during the D&D session with other folks from this board actually).

As you might suspect the costume hinders some range of motion, particularly for a guy with a weapon you might want to have both hands on. It's a bit of a bummer, but what are you gonna do? Limitations of the medium and all that. He's hard to get into a pose that feels action-y. Given how little the guards move on screen that's probably ok, but it'd be nice. If you want him standing to the side and looking regal, he'll do that in spades.

Some lovely subtle textures on this guy. Really nice color all around. And I like this design a ton. He looks more like a "knight" than most Jedi (who tend to have a more wizard/monk vibe) with his combo of elements. Super Action Stuff is coming out with a scifi set hopefully this year (providing Tariffs don't sink him) that has a yellow lightsaber in it and I think I might repurpose that for this guy as he'll probably work better with a single blade over the staff.

Either way, sadness over range of motion aside, he looks the business, and of course I'll headcanon him as some specific Temple Guard for my own purposes.

The Grand Inquisitor was a Jedi Temple Guard. Through Rebels and the comics, that is confirmed.

Oh wow; don't know if I remembered that. Only watched Rebels in full once- marathoned it lockdown, so it all kinda blends together. I always felt like the Grand Inquisitor could've benefitted from some more fleshing out- in both Rebels and Kenobi, but that's a detail that really helps me appreciate him more. I really need to revisit Rebels

Now I'm snooping around my temple guard preorder because I, also, have head-canon'd him as a unique character in my collection. One of my favorite designs from the animated work, the gold on white is gorgeous.

Not sure if it was ever explored in comics or elsewhere but I like to think the temple guard mask Thrawn has in his office belonged to the Grand Inquisitor.

It was explored in the comics that the Inquisitor was a Temple Guard. The Grand Inquisitor fights Jocasta Nu, keeper and head of the Jedi Archives, at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant sometime after Order 66. They are both there to retrieve the list of Force Potential children from the Archives.

The Inquisitor talks as they fight at how angry it made him that there was so much information the higher-ranking Jedi kept from all the other Jedi in the Archives, and that he hated Jocasta Nu for always personally denying him access to the higher-level archives. She knew him and denied him when he was there as a Jedi Temple Guard.

When the Inquisitor dies, Vader bounds and traps his soul at an old Jedi outpost on Tempes. The Inquisitor lived most of his life as a Guard for the Jedi. Then, even in death, he was trapped forced to once again guard something of the Jedi.

I'm ashamed to say the only Star Wars comics I've read are the adaptations of the films. 🫣 I've seen a bunch of badass panels from the Vader comics, at least. I'm really gonna have to start reading them- that all sounds amazing.

Jocasta Nu, now there's a Black Series I'd love to get. I know most casual fans only know her as the snarky old lady from AOTC, but she really is quite badass.

My 2 Temple Guards shipped from Amazon and should be here tomorrow. Really looking forward to them. For those who have them already- how's the gold on them? Fine as-is, or a little muted? I've been dabbling in some (very) light customizing, and have some metallic gold paint that I've been wanting to experiment with a bit, but I don't wanna ruin an otherwise really nice figure.

It's a really lovely design, and they rendered him quite well. I love the belt with all the keys. Such a great fantasy look. I've always had that tendency with masked side characters in Star Wars of headcanon'ing them as unique characters, and I think Star Wars itself is to blame for this since the EU gave so many random side characters whole backgrounds and names.

Depends on how you want your gold. Personally I think the gold on the mask and tunic is very nice and pops well. It's not reflective, but I sort of don't think it would be necessarily. The gold on the saber is a raw plastic so it is much more muted. If I were going to do any touchup it'd be there.

Ok, I knew I read it somewhere, but I thought it was a theory. Thats cool its actual fact.
