Snow C.A.T. Live!

I'm seeing 15,743. At least we're not seeing it drop below 14,000. Though it'd be a dick move by both Hasbro and 2000 people to drop out at the last minute if that happened.

On the Star Wars Haslab thing - yeah, I think the Rancor still stings and the TIE didn't move, though everyone I know who has a TIE is like "Great toy, but takes up like four cubic feet of space and most of that is air so that sucks." The TIE was an interesting but terrible choice to start at this scale. (Meanwhile I have the snow speeder and I swear every time I pick it up I have to play with it, it's just a neat hunk of plastic. that fits tidily on a shelf.

And maybe it makes me a shitty, lazy collector, but "big enough to look cool" would be big enough for an X-Wing for me. I couldn't give two shits about screen accuracy, but I know a huge chunk of the fandom foams at the mouth if you get Vader's chest panel wrong so being a few inches of disappointment with the X-Wing may not be worth the aggravation for Hasbro to produce one. (I'm also not a rivethead and so complaining about the size of the Rattler never even crossed my mind, on account of as a toy, it's fookin yuuuuge.)

Snow C.A.T.

Preliminary final numbers (obviously it will change in the next day or two)

15,727 / 8,000 (+5,285) 196.59% of funding goal after ending.

So the final day large bump happened (again) and everything unlocked. Although this is now the lowest backed Joe Haslab (not just Classified). Should be interesting to see what they come up for next year based on what happened with this one (Thunder Machine?).

Thunder Machine is totally doable at retail, doesn’t need bells and whistles. Neither did the CAT though… I’m still in disbelief that this thing made it. I am fine either way, if it didn’t fund, I wouldn’t have been heartbroken. It’s the halfway stuff of not getting all the tiers that made a difference. I’m glad to be getting it, despite the expense and the amount of space it will occupy.

Chiming in as well on the sudden drop right at the end. That is fishy. It basically dropped 1000 backers in a minute once the funding period ended. I know they charge cards and whatnot, but it seems to me it fits in with the sudden increase that got the Bivouac unlocked.

Anyway, I'll try and avoid anymore conspiracy theories and just be happy that it funded with all the tiers unlocked.

I was mindlessly scrolling a couple days ago and I don't remember where but somewhere out there some keyboard warrior wrote, "No way they hit all the tiers, I don't know if this will go through." Next day I read that the whole thing funds with all the tiers. Congrats to those who backed.

I'm still surprised by the Rattler's final total. It never quite jelled with me as a Cobra vehicle. Seemed too low tech and real world.

The reasons why I think it's around 10K off the Rattler:

1. Lady Jaye and Flint are not exciting. Flippers didn't see the value.
2. Lacks bad guy cachet.
3. Environmental specificness.
4. Space. Already backed multiple Joe Haslabs, can pass this year, and come back next time for a more desirable vehicle (my reason for skipping the Rattler). When I say "desirable", it's more like personal taste.
5. Economy.

The Snow C.A.T. is now down to 15,386. So it lost about 340 more backers in the last couple hours. It will be interesting to see where this finally lands in a day or two.

I think Baroness and Weasel did a lot of the Rattler carrying.
I totally want them and I casually check eBay prices for them and all tier sales. I just can't bring myself to take the "L" on price and admit I should've backed and made it a future me problem.

If you’d been following the full campaign, you’d see plenty of reason to agree with that guy. It was averaging double digit increments. It hovered for so long at not even being funded. It was only within this last week, maybe even days, that it funded and miraculously unlocked any tiers at all.

I haven't been following but here's to those 11th hour big-corporation-croud-fund "miracles".
