General Marvel Legends

I want a tiger stripe Wolverine release using the X-Men 97 body and a good comic inspired head sculpt. I really like how much better the 2 pack brown/tan figure looks with that coloring, far superior to the Secret Wars release... just need a non-animated head... Hoping the tan color matches ANY of the previous comic Wolverine releases. Likely not. They will have found a brand new shade of tan.

Yeah, I'm not much for rubber overlays. Storm always feels dicey to me, but none have let me down. I'm curious how Jada wlll hold up. I don't really understand the hesitation to give Hulk the forward butterflies. Does it look worse than Wolverine and other figures just because he's bigger so it stands out more?

I do a lot of Joe and Yelena is 100% just new Legends. Which is great, MCU fans should get that effort.

I could make a case that Hulk might have been the biggest screw up because he's tent pole character and maximum was new, and it also didn't seem to pay out. Even without the overlay, people just didn't like the head sculpts out the gate. So that figure is a huge Miss at all stages, I'd say.

But I'm still going to keep Jean in the lead. It's a rookie screw up. But maybe it's intentional because when they inevitably drop her in red they can say look, she has the boots and maybe people that were happy with green are still going to make that move for the boots.
The prevailing theme with Hasbro seems to be "whoops, guess we'll just have to sell you another one in in a year!"

I love the colors of the Maximum Hulk, the accessories are marginally interesting and the heads were non-starters with me. Hearing from others about the overlay also turned me off. I'll wait for a substantive Hulk in these colors (perhaps the Gamerverse). I would have preferred the red/yellow X-Factor Jean as well. The oversight of major visual discrepancies smacks of "good enough from a Google search" that's been going on for a while now.

At least with engineering a properly done SOLID butterfly-having Hulk they could reuse that over and over. They think we're going to want overlay Hulk on repeat going forward?

Thinking that Jean was planned obsolescence is silly. They totally do that with mainline characters..with X-Factor (v1) Jean Grey, they clearly just dropped the ball. Sucks for us either way, but I think this was an oversight vs a plot to get us rebuy her years later.

Wasn't my main theory, just throwing discussion points out.

I’ve been thinking lately after the announcement of this WWII Wolverine figure at SDCC, also it kind of fits in that world-building motif in the X-Men 97 B-Ball set…but what do you guys think if Hasbro made an even younger Wolverine variant from his post origins years when he was like a fur trapper and a woodsman living in the Northern Canadian Rockies? Would you buy a variant like that? Even if it was one of those Non-Haslab, deluxe models that came with a Log Cabin, a Silver Fox and Sabretooth figure, some local wildlife and fauna and maybe some little sculpted mounds of snow? Would that appease anyone. And of course Wolverine would have claws but they would be bone claws.

I wouldn’t buy that.

My most wanted Wolverine variant at this point is his CIA/Team X costume, ideally in a set with Creed and Maverick in their uniforms as well. I actually can’t believe we don’t have this yet. It was one of the 5” figures early in the line.

Would love such a 3pk if they did it properly. The Shield 3pk was great. So long as the outfits are accurate more toward the 90s with visors and helmets and their entire kit rather than the more modern looks with just black jumpsuits, no headgear and with a few straps. And also not just giving us a 2pk with it being assumed the previous Maverick figure we'll have to make do with.

I'd buy that set just for Fox. I don't know what Non-Lab models you're referencing, though. Like the Luke/Grogu set?

And yeah, CIA Logan is a must.

Bill Sienkiewicz is my favourite artist of all time so I would love a version of Sabretooth from his cover of Wolverine #10. The 3 3/4" version was also one of my favourites when I first started collecting Marvel figures as a kid.

F4 She-Hulk is what I want from this line: Single carded/boxed figures at a standard price that can be preordered at my leisure. Once upon a time, that was the rule. This year, it feels more like the exception,

She-Hulk is also a very good example that when done right, a straight up repaint can check all the boxes.

The Iron Man wave She Hulk was among my top ten last year. I can see F4 She Hulk within the same ranking this year.
