They did that song when guitarist James Lynch was in rehab. They played it live one Paddy's Day and dedicated it to him as he was still in rehab and wasn't able to play the show.

I appreciate it. I've had decent reception on the Socials (IG and TikTok), but get more conversation here. Maybe down the line, I'll do a video version and get a little more in depth with everything.
 
Sit back and relax. It’s time for another installment of Toys, Tunes and beer. I really liked this @hasbro Marvel Legends Blade when he was first announced. When I got him, he went in a box with other unopened figures. He’s not a back rendition of the Daywalker. Nice amount of accessories, and alternate hands. My biggest gripe is the lack of space on the coat for the arms to get closer to the torso. How he looks in the package is as far as they go. Tonight brew is @fiddleheadbrewing Mastermind. This used to be a seasonal beer. They’d brew it during the spring and have always donated 25% of sales to Team Mastermind which helps tons of children’s hospitals all across its distribution area. It’s always been a nice easy DIPA and now it’s available year round! It has that distinct Vermont taste to it. Tonight’s album is a little obscure. The Soundtrack to the movie Glory Daze. Some have probably heard of it, but I’m guessing many haven’t. Yes you’re reading that cast right. Ben Affleck, Sam Rockwell, and @french_stewart (underrated). Also starring @milano_alyssa , John Rhys-Davies and cameos by Matthew McConaughey, Matt Damon, Brendan Fraser and Spalding Gray. It’s a fun movie that stars Affleck as a punk in the days of college. The album is a killer mix of street punk, pop punk, some ska. A little bit of everything really. If you get the chance check out the movie. It’s nothing too special, but it’s nice to see some of today bigger stars back when they were just coming up.

I consider myself a pretty well rounded and knowledgeable movie dork, at least until my kids came along starting in 2011, but I hadn't heard of this movie until now. Dayum.
 
Some of you may or may not know I have a music industry adjacent job. Back in the 90s we were doing a meet and greet with the Smashing Pumpkins. Corrigan had an assistant who stood behind him at 10 paces holding a bottle of Purell. He would summon her by wordlessly clapping his hands over his shoulder and she would silently approach and put Purell on his hands. He did this about every 4 minutes during the meet and greet.

Still waiting on our Gene Colan FA Blade. Just do a 2 pack with Colan Dracula. I’ll pay that 2 figure tax as Blade could be mostly reuse.

Two installments in one week?! No, you’re not dreaming. Tonight’s has a special part to it actually. So sit back and relax. It’s Toys, Tunes and Beer. While looking for something to open, I found the two @hasbro Marvel Legends I got from @wayward_goat that had the BAF parts to finish Konshu. After that though, I had to play hunt and find for the semi-complete figure. It’s a very nice figure. The sculpt is well done, and I love how they did the floating head. Once I dig out Moon Knight and Mr Knight (are you sensing a pattern here?) they will all look great together. The beer needs no introduction. It’s THE GOAT from Vermont, @alch3mistb33r Heady Topper. Boy do I remember the days of waiting in line for two hours at the @beveragewarehousevt just to get SOME Heady. Those days are far behind us though. Now I can pick it up at the store next to my office. Heady is a beer that I know I can pick up and be happy with. It’s bitter as hell, but still has a bit of citrus in there. A local record shop posts pictures of new stuff on FB once in a while and today they had @badreligionband “Suffer”. An album I’ve always wanted to own, but never did. The cover is iconic, the music is on point even today, almost 40 years later. Bad Religion is the band that changed how punk was received. Instead of just being fast and loud, this was fast, loud, and smart. Oh, and I’m going to see them live on Saturday (with @dropkickmurphys) for the first time in almost 30 years. Can’t. Fucking. Wait.

Suffer is one of my favorite albums. The amazing thing is they're still putting out good tunes.

Enjoy the show. I've seen Bad Religion several times and they never disappoint.
 
I'm happy to report I survived this weekends Bad Religion & Dropkick Murphys show. I'm also happy to report I only had to be pulled off of two people who were acting a fool in the pit. Slamming around in the pit is fine, and I've done my share of it, but purposely running and diving in to the people who are standing at the railing (including older people and kids), that's where I draw the line. So when this one guy kept doing it, I took action. I shoved him back towards the pit and told him to take it in there cause there were kids up here. He smiled and tried to talk to me like I was his friend. I told him to get back there, and he started his shit again. That's when I shoved him over and as I stood over him, one of his friends stared wide-eyed at me. Another guy up front spun me around and told me to forget it and enjoy the show. I did.

Anyways. The last time I saw Bad Religion live was in 1998 on the Warped Tour, and even then I was a casual fan at best. They put on a hell of a show for all of them being at least 60. Seeing Brian Baker live was great. I've been a fan since his Minor Threat days, and even in to Dag Nasty.

I'm an unabashed Dropkick Murphys fan through and through. I've loved them since the first time I heard them in 1997. I first saw them live in 97 as well when the opened for the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and have seen them close to 30 times at this point. Saturday's show was just as energetic as always. Ken Casey is always all over the stage. I'd love to see his step count after a show. He interacts with the crowd, letting people sing along, giving fist bumps. He even brought a kid up who had Downs Syndrome and had him sing along to "Workers Song" (video below).

Ok, I really like this concept (just found it)! I may put up a post or 2 myself but the libation may be something other than beer.
