Super 7 TMNT figures

I've noticed Dan seems more honest the past few years, maybe because he doesn't get a lot of free stuff? Or there's some level of fatigue setting in. I don't know if Toy Bro even does reviews anymore. YouTube never recommends them to me. All of these guys though, I can't watch multiple reviews in a row as their ticks and limited vocabulary really stand out and will drive me nuts. Some of it is schtick and some of it is probably just habit.
ToyBro does still do reviews. He switched from glazing everything Super7 does to glazing everything The Four Horsemen do (it's like 90% of his videos). I do not actually know if he gets stuff for free, though. So maybe he's just a huge mark for the 4H. I don't know.

That said, if you can't recognize that in yourself and be willing to change that aspect of who you are on camera, I haven't the time for you.
That's my feeling on it. And really, how hard can it actually be? There are definitely hundreds, and probably thousands, of YouTubers that have gained some measure of success mostly just being relatively authentic and natural on camera. If you can't do it, it's possible you weren't meant to do it and that's okay. Robo is very good at being natural on camera, for example. I don't feel like he's up there being fake and scripting everything he says and fake-laughing when he's talking to Veebs, or anything like that.

Dan seems like the kind of guy I'd like to know in person, but just cannot tolerate on video. Which is just so weird to me. I always go back to Robo, because he's genuinely one of the only reviewers I've ever seen, for any type of product, that can be generally very positive almost all the time, but never come off as insincere. I never feel like he's HIDING something negative about a product like I do with ToyBro and Dan.

I stopped watching ToyBro because his craggly thumb fingernails were starting to creep up over the tips of his thumbs.

No, for real, this.

Anyone who does toys, cooking, crafts, drawing, whatever with your hands as a feature on camera.

Manicure. Clean up. Clean.

You're going on the biggest stage in the world. Presentation. You could have the world's first look at stolen falling off the truck Secret Wars Marvel Legends, and have an 8K camera and a professional studio setup and if you can't even do that I will click off and just live in ignorance.

It's the same with professional YouTubers mispronouncing words, let alone other people's names.

That is vehemently (VEE-uh-mentlee, not "vuh-HEM-entlee") UNprofessional, not to mention, it makes you look illiterate (e.g. attache is pronounced "AT-a-shay," not "uh-TASH" *sigh*).

This is why grown college graduates type things like "should of" or "me to."

Because we keep perpetuating & celebrating the ignorance, and there is no nice or polite way to legitimately help without being accused of being a pretentious asshole.

And when you accuse my innocent intentions of malice, I will then respond in malice, you illiterate mongoloid dipshits.

The worst part about the pronunciations is they're literally ON A FUCKING PLATFORM THAT HAS THOUSANDS OF SECONDS-LONG VIDEOS HELPING YOU CORRECTLY PRONOUNCE SHIT.

And for famous people, just look up a fucking video ABOUT them (but, like, from a professional source like the news or a talk show; not another YouTuber). If it's a celebrity, the talk show host will say their name in the first 3 seconds of the video to introduce them, and sure as shit will NOT mispronounce it IN FRONT OF THEM.

Yeah I know I've mentioned it elsewhere on these boards, but to me, and I'm told it's unreasonable but I don't care, when you make video content and put it out there, you are putting yourself in a position of authority.

That's my expectation. You're putting your talent and knowledge out there. Except turns out people don't have that. That and it really shows when someone is reviewing an X-Man figure and they're like "I don't even know who this guy is. He's blue and fuzzy with a tail?" Why you were reviewing X-Men figures bro, you have no cachet with me anymore.

Same for mispronunciating or getting facts wrong. Same for missing crucial details on the figure like boot swivel or that you could stow the weapon on the belt.

Basically if I'm not learning, then it's worthless to me. But most concent creators are just about content and don't actually know anything. And it turns out, probably because of my AudHD, I'm ahead of the curve on so much nerd hyperfixation s***, that it's almost unreasonable to expect most people to keep up. That's why I like this community. I'm always learning something or at least keeping pace. Probably because we all have that.

I took advantage of one of the BBTS sales a couple of weeks ago and picked up the Triceraton. The vintage version was among my favorites and, in my kid brain, he was buddies with Slash and the two would wreak havoc on the turtles in my many play sessions. The Super7 version is their typical approach of just recreating that old figure but way bigger. The sculpt is there and they did a pretty good job with the paint. There's a nice wash on the orange, the vest has a nice metallic silver, the blue abdomnen is the right shade and applied well, and the belt is fully painted. The updated accessories look great with this metallic blue finish and the new accessories are creative and fun. I like the respirator a lot and the laser sword looks cool. The negative is just that this thing can't articulate for shit. There was no attempt made to make this sculpt fit the articulation. The head is just a swivel, the biceps barely move, the elbows bend maybe 30 degrees, gripping hands have the wrong hinge, tail is just a swivel, and waist is a swivel that barely moves. And, of course, we all know about the horrible knees. They bend okay, but are just too ugly to use because of the green hinge breaking up the orange flesh color. Why they didn't just move the holes in the pants up a little higher to clear the knees is beyond me. The only thing that articulates well is the ankle. Dude is a glorified 5 POA figure. He's big and well-painted so he's going to look okay on a shelf because of that, but he ain't really posing much.

Damn, that is tempting just knowing how massive that figure is. I just don't know that I need it. Plus, the size definitely presents a challenge when it comes to integrating him into my display. Then again, I don't think there's another figure I don't have that I'd buy on sale and the only unreleased figure I want is Shredder 2k3...

Man, that is a good price for Guerilla Gorilla. So good I considered buying it. But I'm sticking to my guns. He isn't a vintage TMNT figure, so I don't need him. Still, great price for a really big chunky Gorilla. I wonder how long it will be until Rat King is discounted. I'd say it will still be a while, but he is the only one I really still want to get.
