Pabs is...unreliable. That is me putting it nicely. He's also screwed quite a few over in the past. Including on AI. Basically stole the sculpts from Adam Van Wickler, owes that man a lot of money that he will never see.
 
Thanks for confirming! He was so involved in AI back in the day, and suddenly he wasn't. I had no idea who he actually was outside of the Fwoosh - sorry to hear the relationship soured, though clearly his involvement in the industry went well beyond whatever AI got up to.
 
I miss Indy! Isn't he some kind of manager or something at Gentle Giant? I actually didn't realize he was on the outs with Pabs. That makes even going back to Fwoosh at all feel kind of icky, to be honest. As does the response of 'you want a refund?' I'm probably reading too much into how glib that message comes off, if that was the message verbatim. But still.
 
I DMed Indy on Instagram about joining up here. He said he'd check it out, though I'm not sure if it was a platitude or genuine interest. I wouldn't blame him for the former. Some people outgrow forums and he's not obligated to humor my self-promotion.

I have no idea what's going on with Fwoosh Toys or their Ninja Scroll line. As an over-communicator, I think they could stand to be more transparent.

I hope the figures see the light of day.

I saw he did respond and the response was a non-response. There are always updates when you are working on a toyline. The update doesn't have to be "they are shipping now". Update your buyers with what is going on in the process. "We are in the tooling stage". "We received paint samples but didn't like them so they are redoing that". His "update" makes it seem like there isn't even a process happening right now.

Boy, you said it. Just read the response. I think I'm officially done with Fwoosh.

Even funnier now that I've seen he finally updated on the Fwoosh. Have to imagine this place lit the fire.
 
I do think it's worth being cautious and not indicting his whole reputation over a single comment. Not saying RNL is sharing false information or anything but there's undoubtedly a lot more to the story. As frustrating as the lack of communication on forum and toy line can be I think Pabs earned at least a little grace when we don't have much to go on. We don't have to burn the old place down in order to enjoy this new one.

I will admit I'm sharing one side of the story. However, that side is someone I've known for over 25 years at this point (back to the days of the Wizard forums, if you remember those), and even tried to get me a job at the now defunct SOTA Toys. That individual has no reason to lie to me, gains nothing from it. And Pabs definitely isn't helping the matter. ::shrugs::
