The Countdown to SDCC 2025!

Okay, let's get the bad news out of the way.

@Thor-El, as promised I asked the team about the Serpent Society and the Warriors Three. The sad answer is probably not anytime soon.

Those characters require a lot of new tooling and paint. Hasbro feels they can get away with it with A list characters like Thor and Odin. Anything less than that, it's too much of a gamble.

Now this doesn't mean we'll never get any more Asgardians or Serpents. I'm looking at King Cobra and Lady Sif as I type this and it looks to me like they required a lot of paint and tooling. I don't know if I'd call either one of those two A list, yet there they are.

Hasbro seems to be in a strange penny pinching mode right now. You should have seen the size of their booth at comic con. My bedroom closet is bigger than that. And they let one of their smartest and best employees, Ryan Ting, go. That was short sighted and stupid.

I think things will get better. Eventually we'll get a new President (One who isn't a convicted felon, hasn't filed for bankruptcy six times and doesn't have a weird thing for underage girls) and we'll get back on the right track again. It's just a matter of time.

You're a good dude, Thor-El. Don't give up hope just yet. I was 42 years old when I first asked Jesse Falcon for a Jim Hammond figure. Now I'm 66 and it looks like I'm finally going to get one. So it can happen. Hang in there.

So just out of curiosity ... is everyone on this planet younger and better looking than I am?

DON'T ANSWER THAT, TFITZ!!!!!!!!

Okay, SDCC 2025 is now in the books. A great time was had by all. As usual, I ate too much, drank too much and spent too much but it's okay. That's what that convention is there for.

I'll be back later this evening with some final thoughts. Right now I'm going to look at all the loot I bought, including that awesome Savage Land Marvel Legends set. I still haven't cracked it open yet.

Back later.

My outlook on the Warriors Three specifically - I follow a few ML related Facebook pages, one that Jesse follows and sometimes comments, some Instagram pages, such as Dwight's and Steve's, and Dan's X/Twitter page. The Warriors Three pop up all the time in conversations and comments, as do many other characters, but the W3 is constant.
Then there's our happy little group right here with the amazing cards they all love. Who's the top wanted boxset? Our three Asgardian badasses.
They know we want them.
Just keep hammering away. Every opportunity you get.

BTW - if you're on X/Twitter, follow Dan. Comment on his posts. He may not respond but he reads them.

That's disappointing. I would think with the Warriors 3 the biggest issue is the size of Volstagg and if you could reuse parts of that figure elsewhere, as Hogun and Fandral shouldn't need too much tooling. Frustrating that they didn't get to them years ago when Thor was maybe a hotter property.

I don't think it is that strange, at least in terms of Legends and maybe Star Wars - I have to believe sales are down, as they have a smaller and smaller space set aside for both lines at Target and Walmart, and I feel a larger amount of product the last couple of years ended up discounted online and at places like Ollies. And that was all before the tariff instability.

No Serpents?
I guess the pink and purple paint for Diamondback who can be made with existing parts and a new head is too costly.
And the green paint added to a Mystique body to create Asp, too.
And the yellow for Coachwhip.
And the blue and black paint accents on Black Racer.
And the orange paint for Boomslang.
And the orange/purple paint combo for Fer-de-Lance.

They can all be made right now with existing parts and new heads.

Rattler should be fairly easy, too.
