Kinda wild that there’s so much crossover with Storm already - but then I suppose Ryu is inescapable as a first wave character, and Charlie is a fairly obvious choice. My OCD wants to see either company throw a pair of glasses on the face though.

If Jada are sitting on an Alpha Chun Li for tomorrow, that’ll be a bit of a damp squib, so I’m hoping for something distinct.

(Jada rep ruefully pulls out a Dan figure).

Goddammit…

This quickly went from “holy shit! two cakes!” to “Why is there so much chocolate cake… you guys know they make other flavors of cake, right?!”

Like, Storm will have a six month advantage over Jada even with Ryu being delayed at Big Bad just in Jada has so many SF2 figures left to get out…

Granted, not everyone who buys toys knows about Big Bad or Storm and Jada’s will be at Walmart and Target but for those in the know, it’s like “oh wow… thanks, two nearly identical Ryus and Nashes! And there’s not really a quality or price difference to set one apart from the other, it’s just buying the same figure twice with extra steps if you want to support both companies… cool”
 
Gun to my head, I can’t tell those apart without really examining the figures (Storm’s is better when you really look at the finer details) for all intents and purposes those are two identical Nashes for $30 each… I hate this!

I’m kinda mad at Capcom about this… I can understand Jada and Storm not talking to each other, and I can understand the want to make Alpha characters for their gamerverse status and appeal to Marvel Legends collectors (again, to casuals who shop at Target, Jada’s gonna do just fine!) but NO ONE AT CAPCOM thought to say “oh hey, just so you know, someone else is making Alpha 3 figures, maybe do 6 that’s hot right now with the Gooners… or maybe Three? Five wasn’t without it’s charms but we understand if you don’t want to license Four…”

Yeah, the lack of 6 and 5 rep is baffling, but also feels so Capcom.

I just want my Laura, man.
 
What about 4? Rufus and Viper deserve some love too!

Real talk: whoever makes them, I'd really like to get Alpha Gen, Sakura, Karin, Rose, Cammy, Juli and Juni; SF3 Sean; SF4 C. Viper, El Fuerte, Rufus, Gouken, Hakan, and Juri; SF5 Laura, R. Mika *and* Nadeshiko, Akira, Zeku, Poison, Urien, and Menat.

See, it's not like I'm asking for much here, only a couple of dozen. For now. Then they can start on Rival Schools...
 
We have FOUR companies doing 1/12 Street Fighter now. Two doing Alpha 3 and two doing 6, with both pairs having almost 100% overlap so far not counting the two companies that are ahead. I don't see the current SF6 companies continuing past Ryu, Chun-Li, Luke, and Juri. (If they do, give me A.K.I. NOW!) But two companies doing SFA3 means we're about to get redos of every single USFII character twice over in the next few years. Praying this doesn't burn out collectors and that Jada finds ways of making the redos not take slots in waves. (or maybe just expand waves by one figure!!)

We won't be getting two shotos or two redos in one wave, so I'm not worried about getting Ken, Dan, Chun-Li, or Akuma so soon. Cody and Guy are probably THE most requested figures from Alpha 3 (i'm obvs biased, but i've seen em named a lot) not counting the redesigns Ryu/Chun-Li/Ken/Cammy, so I think they'll be staples in the next few waves and not the third figure we see tomorrow.

Either of the Dolls would be GREAT inclusions for this third slot though, and eventually lead into Cammy 2.0 as well as some deluxe exclusives. Since we're doing deluxe exclusives with parts meant for other figures, November and Santamu deluxe two pack (with the heads for the other 8 dolls) would be stellar.

My guess is the third announcement will be Gen or Adon for that SOTA redo like Fei-Long was, but Karin (maybe Rose or R. Mika) would entirely bring back my excitement. I want those first time action figures! And everyone wants the ladies from Street Fighter!
