Marvel Legends Gamerverse

Wasn't expecting the Mafex-style butterfly joints. Are those balljoint butterflies? What's the term for those? I think they were on MCU Wolverine too.

Those are actually one of the few areas on Mafex figures I'm not in love with, primarily because I have several figures where the arms just get all floppy cause that joint can't stay in place. If they've figured out a way to make it sit more reliably I'm all for it. The articulation overall looks great on him.
Ball joint butterflies is really it. I'm glad to see these on MLs, they're fantastic when done right, even McF has been doing them well for a while.

Nice to get confirmation that he has a ball-joint waist, too. No boot swivel sucks though. Two steps forward, one step back!

Hilarious how this superior articulation scheme comes out mere months after maximum profit Spiderman.

I mean I’m still not sure if we can completely confirm that he doesn’t have a boot swivel because the legs are glued in place. But also even if he doesn’t I’m not sure it’s going to be much of a problem for this Wolverine. That figure can really move from the look of things.

He was ham-handing it pretty hard and they have skipped boot swivel on a lot of recent Wolverines but that's true, it's not confirmation. I agree overall, it's not enough to sour me on the figure, the increased waist articulation is huge. I just like me some boot swivel action!

The torso looks really good on that Wolverine. A little hard to see since yellow doesn't film all that well, but it looked pretty fluid. It's what I want out of all Legends figures going forward. Ball-peg shoulders are also welcome as I don't care for the butterfly cuts they usually do. I bet we'll be seeing a lot of this sculpt going forward because I think it's going to be very well received.

Does the psychic butterfly effect fit on Psylocke's non-wind-swept head? I don't see a slot for it and I don't want to force it.

Super excited to get that War Machine vs Omega Red set! The first War Machine is still one of my favorite figures of all time. This new version looks very cool, too.

I only got the butterfly effect to fit on her action head sculpt with the flowing hair.

Did they say when the Marvel Snap 3-pack was going up for sale or preorder or whatever?

One very interesting enhancement to the Target web site that I think is quite recent, i.e. less than a year old, is that on the product page for items it shows you how many have sold recently. The Psylocke/Thanos set was showing "6k+ bought in the last month" on both Monday and Tuesday, 7k+ Wednesday, 8k+ on Thursday, and 10k+ today.

Watching the sales increase like that is fascinating. When did this thing go up for pre-order; was it less than a month ago? If so maybe they put 5k up for pre-order, and the rest have sold this week even without it being on the Target web site for order and without most of us having ready access to them due to all of the Target planogram resets still in progress. Also interesting is that it increased by 1k to 2k just since yesterday, and my guess is that it suggests that as more Targets finish their resets then more of these are selling.

I don't remember ever getting this kind of window into how many of a Marvel Legends figure are selling or how many have even been made. If Target has sold 10k in the last month I would assume their total run is somewhere from 20k to 40k depending upon whether stores end up getting re-stocks, and that has roughly been my estimate for the run size for any given Legends release for years with about 20k to 40k more added in for sales outside of America.

So... do the upcoming Spider-Man Magic the Gathering figures count as Gamerverse or...?
I don’t think so. They showed the packaging and it doesn’t have a huge Gamerverse logo on it. I really like that they changed the mold so he could use the extra arms accessory. I was peeved when the Retro Card Agent Venom didn’t have a backpack hole for it. Wonder why they went with that awful bright blue for the guns this time. At least they look like guns that’re plentiful in normal colors already.

The size of the packaging and the possibly exclusive card makes me feel like the price isn’t going to be my liking.
