Loyal Subjects MASK toy line

There is no world where I want 2.75 inch action figures in my collection... ever. Glad I don't have to think twice about this line.

$175 is way too high. I never had the Rhino back in the day, and the retail version being $100 was going to make it easily skippable, albeit a sliver of a possibility. I'll just stick with the two I had as a kid. The Thunderhawk and Condor. Enough representation of the line and the only real nostalgia I have for the brand.

I wanted a reboot for years, but this line might be arriving too late and at a time when a new release is almost the same cost as a loose vintage in reasonably good condition, especially the vehicles chosen for this first wave? I don't think I have anything from the last wave which tends to be pricier.

I had to replace all my old MASK because I gave them to a cousin when I thought my toy collecting days were over. I reacquired all the vehicles I had as a kid except for Switchblade and Volcano and added a few I didn't have.

I'm glad I don't want the exclusive. I just want what was the toys in the 80's. The Rhino exclusive is cool, with its more magenta paint and the special figures. But it doesn't exist too me. It wasn't the Rhino of my youth. Exclusive Rhino is John Cena. I can't see it.

If this MASK line is successful for Loyal Subjects, I wish with all my heart they'd do Dino Riders. They're already making 2.5 inch humans. Might as well make a dinosaur.

July 1st is Tuesday. Does anyone know what they are going to pre order from BBTS of this line? I can't decide if I want to get all 4 vehicles or not. I definitely don't think I will be a completest with this line, but I am for sure getting the Thunder Hawk and The Condor. But the first 4 things they are offering are all pretty iconic and nostalgic too me. So, I may get all 4.

I'm not getting the SDCC Rhino though. it's cool, but I don't need it in Magenta.

It has been revealed these go up on BBTS at 8:00 AM EST July 1st.

The prices are $35 for the Condor, $60 for the Thunderhawk, $90 for the stealth Helicopter, and $125 for the Rhino.

And I believe the SDCC Exclusive Rhino is $175, and it does feature chrome vac metal parts like the vintage toys.

The exclusive Rhino was more in the $140ish area on a British site. I don't know if it's BBTS upping the price on exclusives because yesterday they listed a Storm Collectibles excl Blanka at $50 more than the regular version.

I remember John Warden during an interview at ToyFair mentioned the pricing. Of course that was months ago and only one guy talking about it at the time and it could have changed, and maybe it has changed. John Warden had them at $35/$50/$75/$100. If these are the correct prices now that is even more terrible than the first reports. $90 for Switchblade? $125 for Rhino? Ouch. Even $60 for Thunderhawk is pushing it. Like you said I hope this is just BBTS pricing because they always seem to be slightly higher than other places, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I'll never get back that hour of needless refreshing.

This was JayC's second botch in a week. He called the wrong date on Walmart Omega Red/ War Machine.

I did the bundle, it's $35 less than buying all individually. I ordered the exclusive and the other three individually, then canceled when I noticed the bundle had the exclusive Rhino.

The bundle is both a lot of money but less than I was expecting. I dunno, this is my dream line from childhood. I really only collect 1/12 scale but I think this one is going to be my only outlier. MASK was such a huge love of mine growing up.

Wanna hear some hilariously bendy toy collector math? "Hey, this set comes out right after I finish paying off my car, since I won't have a car payment that month, I'll get this as a treat, since I was going to spend that money on car stuff anyway."
