I don't think there has been anything solid about it, but after a reissue of the Leader class Soundwave last year, it's highly speculated he is on the way. After Megatron, he's my biggest "need" for the 86 stuff.

I'm fairly easy to entertain, but I didn't think he was that bad. I'd like a more accurate 86 version, but he works in my display for now.

All right, I don't mind this, this but as a toy collector, I've had a lot of people ask me why this is the case and I genuinely don't know. I thought it had something to do with toy guns and the US and the orange caps that they eventually had to put on.

Can anyone give me a concrete answer?
 
I don't think there has ever been a definite reason for it, just the all encompassing "toy guns are bad" thing. Even with the orange tip.
 
Realistic toy guns can't be sold in the US unless they have that orange cap, or are fully transparent, or are brightly colored. I believe Megatron as a gun looked too realistic. I know it was a problem when I was in second grade, on a flight to Texas to visit family. The airline gave us a very hard time about me bringing Megatron with me. They had to box it up, and I wasn't allowed to take it out during the flight.
 
Preordered Megatron, Mixmaster, and Scavenger just now. Up on Pulse and Amazon, though Megatron is sold out at Pulse at the moment.
 
Maybe they should release gun Megatron with an orange cap (people could repaint it) or just make it a secret mode? Maybe it *is* a secret mode? Regardless, I just wanted to post here to laugh at how terrible this box looks:

We know Transformer scales have been shrinking for a while but this kind of thing doesn't help.
 
EB refreshed as I despaired, and I got Megs, the Constructicons, and the reissue Grimlock.

Truly just need Soundwave 86 and I am sated.

So.......are there secret accessories or something? Something not yet announced? Why is that gap so large and empty 🤣 I think I saw a picture of Megs as a gun in someone's hand, so I'd assume he comes with a small version of himself as a gun for Starscream or Soundwave to hold...but it's not in that picture.

Now that I think of it, that picture doesn't have his lightsaber-type energon sword, either. So maybe it'll have something there? Or is this an open box with the accessories wrapped in a paper bag again? It's been a minute since I've bought Hasbro stuff.
 
Just received Hook/Long Haul from BBTS. Both figures are great on their own, but combining this Devastator is thrilling. It all locks together really well. Slightly smaller than Combiner Wars. But feels far more sturdy. Only flaw is that backpack. I can’t see why Long Haul’s fat legs couldn’t have been used for Devastator’s upper legs somehow. Transformers engineering will always be an enigma to me.
