First I've heard of this, but apparnetly Prime 1 is adding action figures to their repertoire now? Only one reveal so far, but pretty curious to see what else they go for, how much they charge, all the usual.

Hmm. I don't think what was missing from Evangelion designs was a shit-ton of panel lines and greebles. Seems like a nicely sculpted figure, but not sure about that design choice.

This was my exact thought, as well. It's a really busy design, like if Michael Bay put an EVA in one of his Transformers movies.

It feels like the designer/sculptor was a freelancer who didn't know that's actually a bio-mechanical life form and not just a giant robot.

I’m a sucker for Eva. But honestly.. judging by their statues I sort of expect this to be $$$$

Yeah. If it had gone more bio-mechanical, more Geiger, or more fleshy gross I think that would have worked better for me.
It's designed by Josh Nizzi, who did indeed do work on the Bay TF movies. Prime 1 actually uses him fairly often.
Welp, I can say this, he has a distinctive design voice. I'm just not sure I needed it on this. Like, throw that guy at an Iron Man suit or something, I'm sure he'd rock it.

He's also done MCU concept work, like Age of Ultron. :)
