It's funny, I just literally found like a half-dozen of these guys in my garage and was wondering if they'd ever remake them.

Looks good. Who is making these? Is BigBadWorkshop the actual company or is this another collab with Fresh Monkey Fiction, or some other company? I don't see any other company besides BigBadWorkshop listed, like The Tick figure.

It's funny, I remember thinking these guys were too big when I was a kid (because I was so used to Kenner Star Wars, GI Joe, MASK, etc) but now they fit right in with the scale I want to collect as an adult.

Big News from Fresh Monkey Fiction!

Some of you may have noticed things have been a bit quieter at Fresh Monkey Fiction over the past six months. Well, now I can finally share why!

After spending the last 10 years making toys part-time, I'm thrilled to announce that I've joined BigBadToyStore full-time to lead BigBadWorkShop!

BigBadWorkShop started a few years ago when Joel at BigBadToyStore and I partnered to launch Operation: Monster Force. After working together closely, BigBadToyStore has officially formed BigBadWorkShop—and they've asked me to take the helm. I couldn't be more excited to kick things off in 2025!

So... what exactly is BigBadWorkShop?

BigBadWorkShop is a new division of BigBadToyStore that carries the same creative DNA as Fresh Monkey Fiction. We'll be dedicated to creating incredible collectibles while fostering a strong creative collaboration between fans and creators. By uniting visionary artists, designers, and passionate collectors, we'll develop a creative engine for unique, high-quality toys and collectibles that celebrate beloved characters and captivating stories. Our mission is to push creative boundaries and bring both original concepts and fan-favorite characters to life.

But what does this mean for Fresh Monkey Fiction?

Fresh Monkey Fiction isn’t going anywhere! However, it will be evolving. Collaboration lines like Naughty or Nice (with Arlen Pelletier) and Longbox Heroes Retro Collection (with Jason Geyer @ ToyOtter Toys) will remain under Fresh Monkey Fiction for now and the Fresh Monkey Fiction store will go back online later this summer.

Meanwhile, some of our existing lines like The World of Eagle Force, Operation: Monster Force, The Fresh Monkeys and lines we have in the works, like Voyagers, Cops N Crooks, Agents of Omega, etc... will shift to BigBadWorkShop but as co-branded Fresh Monkey Fiction collaboration projects.

BigBadWorkShop has big plans ahead! BigBad Mike, who has been at BBTS for over a decade, has joined the BigBadWorkShop team and you’ll be seeing more of him online and at conventions this year. We’ll be expanding with exciting new original brands like Soldiers of Fortune, more collaborations with other indie creators, and some amazing licensed properties set to be announced later this summer.

Why is this great news for fans?

I think I can best sum it up this way...Fresh Monkey Fiction has been crawling for 10 years, looking to walk. BigBadWorkShop will start off walking, but will be running before we know it. In fact, thanks to this evolution, the next wave of The World of Eagle Force - our flagship 1:18 scale line with over 100 figures produced, has already started pre-production and will not require crowdfunding. Pre-orders for the 11 figures announced at Joefest will open this summer!

Stay tuned for our new BigBadWorkShop social channels so you can follow all our exciting updates. Plus, look out for a special new line announcement at Toylanta later this month!

The future is bright, and I can’t wait to share this next chapter with all of you. Thanks for being part of the journey, many of you have been here from the start, I am super excited to share what’s next and hope you’ll continue on this awesome ride with me. Happy to answer any questions below.

Thanks for the info.

There are some that I will 100% buy, but I don’t know how much of a full line I can commit to!

Bulletproof
Longarm
Mainframe
Bowser/Blitz

Big Boss
Buttons McBoomBoom
Dr Badvibes
Berserko

Yeah. I'm not sure for this line. I have no attachment, and the first figure doesn't really do it for me.

I have sentimental vibes on Barricade and Bowzer & Blitz (give me a character with an animal companion, I swear to gawd I'm such an easy mark) but I don't think I'd need to go deep into the line. I don't recall even owning any of the villains. Hell, I still have Barricade and Blitz! They're wrecked, I think Blitz is missing a paw, but they survived almost four decades of abuse in a box.

I despise the softgoods coat on ol' Bulletproof there. But I love everything else about the figure, so preordered and will toss the coat in the garbage when the figure arrives.

I don't know how true this is, but this might be a Ramen Toys/Super7 Silverhawks situation.

I am intrigued. I could see this being a Super7/Silverhawks situation where someone thinks they own the rights, but actually don't. Or not the specific rights they are claiming.

I know Hasbro isn't the most diligent with keeping trademarks in some situations, but I can't see them losing a whole IP just like that. Maybe the name? Maybe?

Also didn't Fresh Monkey Fiction have some licensing thing to release some figures a year or two ago? No mention then of this at that time if I recall.
