I *almost* posted that here or in the 1/12 vehicle thread but aside from lights it seems overall like a less cool looking version of the thing we're already going to get from a reliable source.
 
That seems to be the pitfall with the 3rd party fan made stuff. They come out with a fan favorite something because "Hasbro will never do it", Hasbro makes it, and makes the fan made one looking like the expensive, poor copycat it is.
 
Third party Transformers stuff tends to age well. They’re often the same companies that make the Joe stuff. But for some reason, Hasbro/Takara haven’t caught up to 3P releases, in terms of characters. TFs get hung up on licenses for the G1 characters (still no Masterpiece Jazz or Mirage) but there have been several offerings of each of the ‘86 movie cast. 3P Joe stuff seems a bit more in its infancy, in the same way Classified (1:12 Joes) is a relatively new market compared to Masterpiece Transformers. It’s risky to make anything because odds are Hasbro will get to it first.

See, the card art and especially the file card are already going there!! All it needs is just . . . a little . . . push. I’d say make the bodysuit organic-looking, the web-gear removable, and then the alt-parts I mentioned and then you can have the pieces to do a whole Brundlefly thing as the Eel recruit degenerates into a Deep One. “Frog man” to fully amphibious abomination.
Damn, now I’m all pumped up about this. A mutating Hydro-Viper is now in my Top 10.

I’m way behind, but I have to boost the Hydro-Viper! Loved that guy! Such a cool helmet.

I’d love to get Eel v 2 with the big red Black Manta eyes and robot shark!

Another awesome underwater trooper was Undertow. And he had a pet barracuda!

Also need Alley Viper v2 with the stronger proportions, awesome armor, snake shield, and fanged helmet!

I forgot about Undertow! I never had him as a kid, but I bet he'd make a really cool Classified figure. This conversation has made me realize how many underwater guys Cobra was sporting. There were like two legally distinct Eels, Hydro-Viper, AND Undertow. Didn't the Joes mostly just have Deep Six and Wetsuit? That yellow and black Wetsuit was a favorite of mine - they gotta make him soon. Put him in a wave with yellow and black Alley Viper - the correct answer to 'which Alley Viper was the best one?' The one with a fucking snake shield and a snake skull mask. Obviously.

Gonna be honest, I always forget that Torpedo isn't just Deep Six after they stopped making him wear the big diving suit. Are we counting Shipwreck as an underwater guy? Is that like putting Dusty in white and saying he's an arctic guy? I am undecided on this.

Yes! T.A.R.G.A.T. and Annihilator were both amazing!

Annihilator even made onto the local news in Los Angeles when I was a kid as being potentially negative for kids due to the violent name. I thought it was amazing to see the news focus on him!

So... I saw pictures on Instagram of a series of 1/12 fighter pilot figures by Ramen Toys that look pretty good. I didn't see any price info... One of the figures looked a bit like Val Kilmer from Top Gun... and I feel like another one the name alluded to Goose from Top Gun (Great Balls of Fire), though the likeness doesn't give Anthony Edwards.that much. I didn't recognize likenesses on the other two. They looked like they could be pretty Classified compatible and at least the Ramen Toys guys don't seem as toxic as the Patriot Force guys. I could see myself picking up at least two of them unless the price is crazy.

edit: So with a bit of research I find this is the second wave and wave 1 is already sold out. This is wave 2 that are up for Pre Order on Ramen's site. The price is $55 each and I went to pre-order a set but the shipping price was $50, so I balked.
