General Marvel Legends

WOW, no, that character didn't ping in my brain at ALL. Everyone was talking about video game sprites recently which I also had no idea what that meant so I just thought it was another thing I didn't know.

I don't think Sprite counts since she's 4000 years old and a robot in the form of a teen - or is she a kid? But good catch. I don't know how old America was supposed to be either in MoM, so maybe her.

The boot thing is a miss, of course, but I really like the X-Factor Jean in hand. I wish the scullcap head was more neutral - ended up using the alternate head instead beause while smiling it's less situational.

I went with scully head because I don't think I've ever see her smile while suited up (crazed Phoenix notwithstanding) plus I figure once they do the red suit version it won't have the cowl. Besides, how many heroines have they made with their mean face on? I like it because it's different.

I too went with the covered hair. I just associate that more with the green costume. I'll use the long hair with the inevitable red version (at least it better be inevitable, are you hearing me Has-bros?)

K-Mart is getting X-Factor Jean with yellow boots!
There's still a K-Mart that has mysteriously stayed open in the next town over from me. Actually, I should drive by, it HAS to be closed by now...

Not for nothing, some of my fondest action figure memories were putting them on lay-away at Kmart as a kid. A great lesson in delayed gratification that didn't take. GIMME MY FIGURES NOW.

My parents hunted down those blue-light specials! Yeah, we was kinda poor though we always had a roof over our head and fed so life was good.

We weren't a KMart family, but the tradition of layaway at Bradlee's or Caldor's will stay with me forever.

EDIT: Got my threads mixed up with preorders. Ignore the pumpkin head man. Carry on.

I also think of the cowled head first in this costume, but it looks like uncowled was worn longer. She only covered her hair for the first 8 issues, and wore the uncowled green look from issues 9-25. Not that it matters, but I'm rereading X-Factor now that I've got Jean and Scott in hand and it's a fun detail. I'm just glad they included both!

Random Marvel Legends thought of the day: I was looking for my Miami Vice Hit Monkey which led me down the path of looking at my various Deadpools and I realized - think my favorite Deadpool, despite ALL the advancements in articulation and such, is still the Juggernaut wave one? I think it's cos he sort of blends a comic and movie look and kind of stands out against the others. Nothing fancy, no frills, but just works. Somewhere upthread or over in the Gamerverse thread we talked about our go-to Captain Americas and now I'm kind of mentally going down my list of favorite versions of characters I have multiple variations of. Like how often my go-to is NOT the most advanced/recent/face-printed versions anymore. (Maybe this would be a fun standalone thread?)

Mine is Boxerpool. He and Gwenpool are always holding down a side of my SDCC subway set.

Deadpool might be the most consistently good character in Marvel Legends. I still enjoy the series 6 Deadpool from the Toy Biz days and keep him on display to this day. The MCU and comic ones have all been pretty good, and there's certainly been no shortage of variants.

I was so, soooooo annoyed I needed to buy Boxerpool to complete the BAF but he's such a stupidly fun figure to pose. Like, I cannot remember a figure I wanted less that won me over more.

I think you're right. Even the goofy ones like X-Pool and Piratepool hold up. I had... Oh I don't know which one he was, but the one with the torso ball-joint, probably one of the most recent ones, has the toe joints too, he was on display and I legit had to debate which one to swap him out for because they're all fun. (I did realize once Archangel shows up I'll have a really mighty X-Force display possible and will have to break out the gray version of Wade, also a surprisingly fun figure.)

Boxerpool is not just the best Deadpool figure, it's possibly one of the best Marvel Legends figures ever. If, for no other reason, than because it represents a moment in time where the Hasbro Marvel team were allowed to be silly just for the sake of silly.
