General Marvel Legends

This is a random question, but what Marvel legends Comic Captain America figure do you guys consider the best? And do you feel like this new Captain America in the Gamerverse 2 Pack with Venom is likely to be the best so far?

Secret Wars Cap with an old shield is front and center in my classic Avengers display, however first ToyBiz wave Cap is right next to my computer for..., um... reasons. The ToyBiz Cap is still my preferred Cap. He's a great figure.

That's cool that you still hold the original ToyBiz legends Cap to that high a standard. I need to get that Secret Wars Cap though. That one and this upcoming Gamerverse two pack Cap look really good. But I was trying to decide, do I need them. I have 80th Anniversary Cap, 20th Anniversary Cap, and several others. And I'm sure we'll get a Maximum Cap. But it just got me curious what all of you used or liked as their "Best Cap"

I figured that Secret Wars figure would get mentioned. And sure enough, the first person to respond mentioned it. I might have to get it.

Hasbro hasn't made a "best" Cap yet. They may never. 20th anniversary would have been it, but they held out on a standard shield. Ditto with the Secret Wars Cap (though I don't like those head options as much anyway). MvC Cap has the standard shield but they took away his scale mail.

I'm tempted to go with Beanish and say Toybiz (assuming he's talking about series 1 Cap) but I do like my sculpted on scales. That leads me to Toybiz Face-Off Cap, but I don't like his head as much as TB series 1.

It's a Cap conundrum.

I will say I feel Toybiz was giving us the best Caps they could make for the time whereas Hasbro just holds out so you keep buying. They know what they're doing.

I dont have a dog in this race as a MCU only collector, but I would say design wise, I prefer a no scales Captain America personally

Secret Wars Cap is my favorite at the moment. He replaced the 20th anniversary Cap for me.

I'm fully expecting that Cap gets the Maximum treatment in 2026 or 2027 if they're still doing that subline at that point.

The 80th Cap is the best Hasbro Cap for my money. He's got a regular shield and everything! I like 20th Cap a lot too. Secret Wars I picked up but haven't opened yet - he's feeling a little redundant since I already have the other two.

Upcoming MvC Cap looks great for a different look, though I'm always going to miss the scales. If he had a balljoint waist he'd be a clear winner.

I still love TB series 1 Cap. He's definitely been surpassed by the above Hasbro figures in the articulation and overall design/proportion department, but that head sculpt is unsurpassed. And the nostalgia is strong.

80th Anniversary Cap gets my vote, though I wish he had butterfly shoulders. 20th Anniversary with any other Cap's shield is a close second though. Secret Wars is really good but I hated the facial expressions so I actually popped the unmasked head from 20th Anniversary on that body (and again, with the damaged shield!). I really like the look of the Gamerverse one.

I like 80th Cap, I like the throwing effect and the dark blue is nice if not "classic". His only issue is that he's cockeyed. He came out like a week before Hasbro started doing the digital printing on all the faces.

I forgot about the cockeyed issue with the 80th! I actually got lucky and one of the two heads on mine had perfect 20/20 vision (the other was looking in two directions at the same time) so that just determined which head I used. He's been my main display Cap for... man, really since I got him.

I will grab this Cap and Venom but the shield will go in the fodder bin. I got tired of Hasbro's excuses about the shield and grabbed six of the Marvel Select Caps back in the day. It's a perfect size shield and the way it was engineered by Marvel Select is by far the best shield ever done so yeah I paid $29.99 six times for a shield for my Cap figures. I'm guessing if Hasbro decides to do a Maximum Cap this is where Cap will get the combo shield like Marvel Select did.

I keep having to pass my MCU shields to whatever the best comic Cap happens to be at the time.
