G.I. Joe Classified Series

Retro Viper popped up on Amazon over the weekend and now I have a Retro Viper and he is my special boy that I loves very greatly.

Granted, I don't buy tons of Classified these days, but RetroViper is top tier. I don't think I have a Classified figure whose joints move this smoothly without being loose. I love the colors. I love all the extra hands. I love that he more directly mirrors the vintage sculpt. Nearly perfection here. I love this figure.

I appreciate that they gave us a weapon with a bit of paint on it - that looks great and I'm going to continue to petition the Joe team to give us nicer-looking weapons. And I understand why his second weapon is classic toy grey. But goddamn I dislike it. It's SUPER gummy and just looks kind of terrible. I also wish his backpack had a smidge of paint on it - but since it's on the back of the figure and I'll almost never see it, it's the kind of detail I can lose if that means gaining all the good stuff this guy has going on.

I hope armored CC and v4 Snake Eyes are this good.
 
It would be nice if they made updated rocket blast effects that are reversed for large rockets like MMS and Stinger, also ones that plug into the slots on the vehicle like they do on the Dragonfly's effects so they looked like they were firing ahead of the holding slot. The ones we get now feel worthless to me, they look like I plugged them in backwards.

Side-note about the Action Sailor, you can swap the leg holsters on him, might want to warm them up a bit but they fit fine. That way his pistol won't be knocked out of the holster from the knife (y) I think it looks better too

So, no disrespect at all Swoop to your awesome photography skills, but you literally started a Joe Action Photo thread here - and I go to that thread to see your pics... but I scan this thread for news and discussion and when we are only getting one or two comments per page because it is flooded with your photos is a bit of a drag.

Any chance the fantastic photo shoots can live in the thread created for posting photos?

I do NOT know why I owned that figure because I definitely was never into sports as a fan (played some football in high school, but was never *into* it), but I definitely had him and he was absolutely ludicrous and, honestly, a lot of fun. I’m sure Classified will take a pass at him. I can’t say he’s on my wishlist, per se, but I’ll bet they’d absolutely slay with a Classified version.

I remember the helmet and the weapon, but I did not remember that the footballs clipped onto his legs. That's some cool weapon storage.

Yeah, now I want a classified of this guy. It has to happen.

Honestly I thought that action photo thread just kinda died quietly. Plus all my photos I'd posted previously there were wiped by imgur.

Almost no views, very little interaction or participation from anyone else.


So...I just post in the main thread because that's where most of us are hanging out...interacting...participating. Maybe someone posts a funny response or a like, or a memory being unlocked from child hood. discourse. discussion even.

I love the pics. But I agree with PC, I come to this thread for the words. I've actually been purposefully quiet about replying to your pics here so as to not encourage the posting in this thread! I would most likely reply in the photo thread! Please don't take any of that the wrong way. Your pics are so dope, but there's a place for them that's more appropriate.

Block feature?
you guys use it on me.
That way you and your friends get all the words you want, and I don't have this small quantum of joy get snuffed because you have to scroll past a pic.
 
In my mind this thread is for discussion and occasional pics pertaining to the discussion or to relevant recently released figures.

"Hey I just got Dial Tone today, here's a pic of him!" or pics from recent live streams of future releases, etc. "News" type stuff

Just general GI Joe pics, especially prolonged photo sets, should definitely go in the action photo thread so it's not burying the conversation.
