Harvinger Studios, Savage Crucible

So I just got back from a lovely vacation, which made me hold off on shipping my BBTS PoL until I was home to secure the delivery. Timed it up well enough to arrive this afternoon, so I now have Brynyar Vael & Nakara the Undying. They are both very impressive in hand, these figures really do look better in person than in pictures. BUT once again I find myself disappointed by the blind bag weapons! It's not their fault, it is what it is, but I got the same 2 weapons I got with Elric. So it'll be a little while before I can expand on that little side collection. Do we know if these are being included with Death Dealer and/or his horse? I know they said the fishies are back to the weird transparent colored weapons. I just want Excalibur and the really long Ringwraith looking sword!
Who even has the good blind bags? I'm guessing Jaeger, Brynyar, Naraka and Elric. Even though I think the surprise is fun I really do hate blind bags, especially when the characters that have the good ones aren't even army builders.

Pretty sure the new blind bags are with Elric, Brynyar, Naraka, and Death Dealer. Everyone else is the jolly rancher weapons, including the dungeon set and accessory packs. Supposedly pre orders of DD through the SC site will also have an extra thing.

I got a bloody tonfa with my Brynyar and I like that very much. Also my komodo was a red lava one. I think I'd prefer the solid colored one over the red translucent, but he's still pretty awesome. Wish I coulda got more than one.

I hope Moorcock sees those, to understand the pent-up demand for his shit in more than just novel and comics format.
I mean, the guy has been trying to get actual screen adaptations made of his work, the only one that actually got made was an adaptation of the Jerry Cornelius novel The Final Programe, and that movie messed up the hermaphrodite at the end by turning it into a hairy caveman shambling across a piss ocean.

There was an attempt at making an Elric video game in the 90s, but that never gained traction. Wendy Pini tried to make an Elric animation for a college project but gave up because she couldn't make it work. Recently in 2019 adaptations for Elric and the first Hawkmoon series were announced as being optioned, Elric by New Republic Pictures with Glen Mazzara and Vaun Wilmont to do the adaptation, and the BBC was doing History of the Runestaff with Steve Thompson writing it, but both shows seem to be stuck in development hell with no cast announced or production even happening since the adaptations were announced. Some fans have even spread rumors that the Elric show was cancelled for being too similar to Witcher and A Song of Ice and Fire.

Then in 2021 an Elric video game was announced by developers Runatyr and Aurora Punks, they just announced they were making it and were working with Moorcock, but they went radio silent on that, with Aurora Punks in September 2023 saying on Twitter they would be revealing something sometime soon, and nothing has come of that since, also Runatyr apparently doesn't have a website anymore.

It seems like the only place Moorcock succeeds with adaptations is comics. Hopefully the two separate Elric TTRPG announcements (Dragonbane and Dungeon Crawl Classics) might lead to greater interest in adapting his work. Or maybe studios are waiting for the 86-year-old anarchist/communist to die first.

What are the chances of Mournblade, Stormbringer's twin, showing up in blind bags?
I assume with one of the other two Moorcock figures. Given the polar bears seen at tables at events, I think Erekose/John Daker's second adventure is getting a figure. Third figure would probably be Corum, or maybe Hawkmoon. Would be funny if it's Jerry Cornelius.

Anyway, in terms other Sword and Sorcery characters they could do, Karl Edward Wagner's Kane would be neat (Frazetta did do some art pieces of him, so maybe Franky can see if they can get in touch with Wagner's estate), maybe Bran Mak Morn. Or characters from Poul Anderson's The Broken Sword.

In terms of female characters, maybe Red Sonya of Rogatino*, or Jirel of Joiry, or Dark Agnes de Chastillon.

In terms of potential high/epic fantasy characters, some Cosmere figures would be cool, a Steel Inquisitor would be an interesting figure to see on a shelf. Maybe Malazan, maybe First Law. Second Apocalypse is probably unlikely, but The Most Violent of All Men would be fun.

Personal choice would be figures of characters from Kill Six Billion Demons.

*Boss Fight's Steampunk Red Sonja is the closest thing to an actual Red Sonya figure that exists.

Been lurking for a while now, decided to make an account.

Also, the one who keeps calling Moorcock more cock is wrong, given the spelling, a moor is a piece of uncultivated land or a boggy area, so technically speaking, his name is swamp dick.

....? What?
Boss Fight Studios' Steampunk Red Sonja figure is the closest thing to an actual Red Sonya of Rogatino figure on the market in my eyes. It's not one to one, but one could pretend Steampunk Red Sonja is one of the characters that Red Sonja is based on (the others being Dark Agnes, and Jirel of Joiry).

For anyone who might not know, Red Sonya is a red-haired gunslinging pirate woman of Polish-Ukrainian descent fighting the Ottoman Empire, she is completely disconnected from Conan aside from R.E.H being the creator of both.

I get you. When you said 'closest to an actual Red Sonja' - that was confusing since the first BFS (and LooseCollector) Red Sonja is very clearly based on 'actual' Red Sonja artwork. But you're talking about a -different- Red Sonja from earlier in your post and my brain did not make the connection at all. Must have been a long day.

I feel like I've gotten really lucky with the golden bags. Got two of the amulets, the flesh one and the fang one. The treasure is cool, I wouldn't mind it, but I like the magic relics more. I've been super lucky that I haven't technically gotten any dupes yet across all my blind bags. The closest is getting both colorways of the new two-handed sword with all the cracks in it.

I just spent some time cruising through the Savage Crucible website. The only item I can find that is listed as "entombed" is the silver decoder.

So is everything else up for reissue? They've said they won't do that. "Word matter in the crucible" — but I don't know what they're saying ...

Be envious of my treasure pull.

But I got that dumb weapon, so I guess I paid the price.
