NECA - General Thread

The Samurai Predator looks fantastic. I don't really collect the Predator figs other than from P1 and Prey (would get some AvP Preds if it was at all affordable), but I may have to grab that one. Very toyetic.

I keep forgetting that the new animated Predator movie came out today. Gonna have to try and watch it this weekend.
 
I have fallen down a rabbit hole of epic proportions trying to pick out a predator to start a collection there. At least when I went looking for Xenomorphs I could find kind of a generic used one that would work in any photo I took... the predators are all uniquely interesting. Did I spent two hours today reading up on the Lost Tribe? YUP. Did it help me decide which predator to pick up first? NOPE! And watching Killer of Killers today did not help, either. I really want one from The Sword vignette. Although I also want the heroes of all three vignettes, too. I feel like Kenji is the Predator lead character Hiroyuki Sanada could have/should have played in a life action film.

Based on "easiest to buy fastest," I'm eyeballing Warrior (Ultimate), Snake, or Shaman from Amazon, but Target has Ultimate City Hunter and Ultimate Jungle Hunter, though Jungle is one cent too little to get free shipping.

Shaman speaks to me on an aesthetic level, but I kinda want one that'll look great hunting characters from other IPs.
 
My favorites are all the weirdo Kenner ones. Basically anything that doesn't look like any that have been in a movie. Those are boring to me. I really love the lava planet one.

The one that I will get eventually but I'm holding off cos he's got such a specific look is Ahab. So much personality. Although I really wish I had a store locally that had some in stock so I could go make an impulse buy and stop obsessively shopping.

Ahab is awesome. I also love the clan leader, I think? The one with orange markings and green tentacles. I have just about all they have made and don't know the names of most of them!

This quest is making me wish ThinkGeek was still open. There used to be one a mile down the street from me and I would've popped out tonight and just... got a predator they had in stock, whoever they had.

Just threw a bid at a quartest of predators someone's offloading on eBay but the price went up past my no-go point, so... Man I really am tempted to just grab the Ultimate versions of Jungle and City as a start since Target has both online. But Shaman has a PONCHO.

Starting a collection you can't go wrong with those two. Especially if you still just want to do some figure photos.

I miss Hastings. That store had everything figurewise.

There's a 100% chance I end up with Ahab and Shaman if I get those two right off the bat, but I mean... story of our lives, right? "I swear I'll only buy one or two from this line..."

Just found an auction for Ultimate City and Jungle and dropped in a bid. If I get outbid I'm just gonna order the two from Target so I can stop obsessively shopping and just dive in. (This is so funny compared to Xenomorph shopping. I don't want any variants there, so I just looked for the most boring one, bought it, and when I wanted a second one, I looked for the most boring, cheapest one, and...)

When I first branched out to other lines besides Marvel Legends and MOTU I thought it would be cool to have a few horror figures, but just one from each movie. So I grabbed a Jason from Toys R Us and then an Alien and a Predator figure. It was a slippery slope, lemme tell you.
 
I liked that Alpha one that NECA did as an original character.

And Killer of Killers was badass, I'm afraid what might happen if they make figures from it. I've already been vaguely regretting not getting the first Feral Predator from Prey recently....
 
I've been eyeing Shaman Predator for quite some time. Don't know why I don't just bite the bullet and order it. I've always thought Shamans and Witch Doctors and all that were neat, and who doesn't love a cool staff?

Haven't gotten around to watching Killer of Killers yet, but I'm sure they'll get around to making figures from it eventually. The Alien and Predator franchises are too big a moneymaker for them. Hopefully they'll finally get around to making Wolf from AvP:R one day; reading the comments of any unveiling just shows how badly fans still want him, rights issues be damned. Part of me still wishes they'd re-release the AvP figures, or at least Scar, Celtic, Chopper, and the Elder (and the Grid Alien). Forever bummed I missed out on those.
 
Needed to order something on Amazon for the house last night, had Shaman in my cart, and just caved. Eff it, go with the one that's eye catching first and let the addiction begin, right? I also think Shaman looks pretty standard-issue predator under his poncho if I need a bog standard predator for pics.

Killer of Killers was great. I could see them making Bone Cape for sure, and the one from the Shield.
 
I'm curious if they'll make any of the humans from Killer of Killers... I would definitely buy the Viking and Samurai characters as figures if they made them.
