Pretty sure it's a Scooby Doo reference. But in any case, it's not based on anything in G.I. Joe. It's just a 'for fun' thing.
Which makes it better. This line stays on my radar because they aren't just playing the hits. I like that they said they specifically didn't have Joe branding on the front of the figure so he could be used as a deep sea diver dude for any line.

Ah. I was referring to the “action figures”, which were well sculpted but very poorly articulated.With regard to Danger Girl, I have the figures, the Abby Chase statue (the original one not the new Sideshow one with Ozempic face), the tpb's, the colletor's edition hardback, various single issues signed by J. Scott and the SDCC poster he just happened to be selling one of the years I went. Supposedly he was going to do a run on Spiderman, which I'm sure would have been remembered well, but after a few years when I'd see him it sounded more and more distant until it was basically only doing covers, which is what we got.
His site has a few DG prints that get fairly cheap around the holidays if you wanted more of those. Most of the DG hype has dissipated so they tend to be the cheaper ones on the site.
I got the distinct impression, based on him not even quite seeming to follow B-Mac's prompts, that Dan wasn't really told what he was supposed to be doing or saying, or how much he was actually allowed to say. He seemed to kind of hedge around 'can I say this... can I say that..' and mostly let B-Mac handle it. Maybe out of fear of overstepping. Which is totally understandable.
