Hulk Deluxe/Retro Wave

Yes! Absolutely! The new Doc Samson looks fantastic. Love that powerful physique. I have wanted a new Doc Samson for ages.

I’m not placing the torso and arms. Is the torso new with those butterfly joints? The sculpt looks like modern Luke Cage except maybe the neckline is retooled? Arms might be Luke Cage, too?

Maybe I'm mistaken, but the torso looks different in addition to the neckline - the lats seem to start much higher up and go wider on Samson. The arms look like they could be the same. No idea on the legs - new?

Doc Sampson looks fantastic! Instant purchase! Unless it's a Target exclusive. Then it won't be so instant. :cautious:
If you can navigate the mosquito filled jungle and the river filled with crocodiles you may make it past all the traps in order to be awake at 1AM to re-approve your purchase 4 times in a row. Many are called, few are chosen.

Whomever was responsible for sculpting Maximum Thor's peculiar headsculpts has gotta be the same person who sculpted Doc's big ol' mugs.
Personally, I think Hasbro should transfer that person over to package-design or marketing, and keep them far away from the headsculpt production department.

Seconded. The giant jaws need to stop. Again.

The execution of the smiling head just looks so offputting to me. The chunky hair sculpt, the giant chin, the teeny eyes - it looks like a McF sculpt and not one of the good ones.

Whoever have been making these heads with the cartoonishly big jaws is like the Bizarro version of Paul Harding. Instead of tiny mouths and pinched cheekbones we get swollen heads that make these characters look like they are allergic to both bee venom and Benadryl.

My approval of this Samson figure is probably too-impacted by the experience of being a Legends collector since the beginning. Is this the best, most revolutionary Legend? No... probably no. But it's so much better than the one we got 20 years ago that I'm just so excited to replace the shitty one on my shelves.

Another Pitfall player from years ago?

I am definitely not called or chosen. I gave up the annoying Target online game a long time ago. I'll find it in store or have a buddy hook me up. This is the way for Target.

This is the most exciting thing they've revealed all year, because this is just exactly what I want out of ML - a solid action figure that faithfully translates a Marvel comic character from page to 3D. Of course I want improved articulation (in this case, basically just a balljoint waist - everything else is there), more stuff - a third or fourth or fifth head, better value, more paints, dioramas, comics, trading cards, etc etc. But I mostly just want solid figures of comic characters, which this guy (seems to) deliver on - and honestly, there have been way more hits than misses for me lately on that front.

It's a big one for me as well (maybe second after Daredevil) - I'm just trying to temper that zeal with the fact that all I've known is the shitty one for 2 decades... plus, I'm sure I have some other hands in my box for options, but the angry head... I already have some good photos planned using that. Which says a lot, because I did nothing with that other Samson the whole time I had him. Maybe once... but he was very far in the background and probably mostly obscured.
