Dark Universe Park 2-Packs

Wondering if there's a way to obtain this without going to the park or spending an arm and a leg on eBay.

Huh, I thought Universal had abandoned their "Dark Universe" plans after The Mummy was such a flop.

Yeah, those are interesting. I know there's the Universal Park thing but are the designs based on what was supposed to be released? The Dracula figure looks like Johnny Depp (at least the toy does.) I don't see Javier Bardem in that Frankenstein, though.

Looks like at least the Frankenstein set is available on the Universal Orlando site. No sign of the Dracula one yet. A bit pricey, but I don't know if they'll be available any other way (or any cheaper). They also have the single-carded NECA repaints for those interested. Some cool non-figure merch, as well.

Depp was going to be the Invincible Man, not Dracula. At one point Dracula Untold’s Luke Evans was going to continue as Dracula but I think they abandoned that before they abandoned the rest of the Universe.

Right, right. When I think of Dark Universe, my mind goes to that weird publicity photo with Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, Russell Crowe, etc. I actually kinda forgot about Luke Evans (who's not in the photo) and Dracula Untold.

Huh, weird. Never even saw this thread, but I was combing through the pages looking for a different one and came across it. No idea these existed. They don't look great to me, but my brother is trying to talk me into going to the park with him and my nieces this fall, maybe they'd look better in person

Yeah, they look pretty bad, but that's no surprise. Credit where credit's due, they didn't fall apart right out of the package; part of me thought they'd be that cheap plastic that can barely stay together. Of course, one video review doesn't mean all the rest are the same, but it's something. I know at this point, and the foreseeable future, they're just riding on the hype people have over the newness of it all, so I'm sure they'll sell a decent amount, but I think the absolute most I'd pay for each pack would be $30-ish, and even then it feels like a bit of a stretch.

Dark Universe (the park, not the lame attempt at a shared universe from a few years ago) is my wife’s and my dream destination right now. I just want to be there all gothed out and bask in it all. I’ve wanted to live in a Universal Monster movie (or a Hammer movie) my whole life.

Maybe when the Universal theme park opens here in the UK in 2031 they’ll have got round to releasing some decent figures I can pick up.
