Marvel Legends Gamerverse

The information on the original video showing this line off, the video that Robo featured in last weeks Rewind, said it would be up for preorder today at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern (or maybe it was 9 and 12...either way, I had alarms set so I wouldn't forget). So it didn't occur to me to log in to Target at 6am Pacific  Silly me!

I'm not mad about missing this 2pk, I'm honestly not. But I am a little curious why in 2025 these things never go as they are supposed to unless they have McFarlane's name behind them. Why give everyone a date and time for preorders if they're just going to go up 4 hours earlier? I get that this isn't Hasbro's deal, it's Target, but why are retailers so awful at this? Target is happy to take the toy out of your hands and yell "street date!" at you, but they can't abide by an advertised preorder time? Ok.

You're literally the first person I've heard say that. The Fwoosh threads from 2020 all reported it, and every review I saw the reviewer had it. The reviews I remember watching were Robo and Anthony, although I know I watched more than those two.
I've had Mafex Wolverine since the first release. Never had the arm fall off. I know it was a wide spread issue, even among the non-reviewers, but I sometimes think reviewers tend to be more demonstrative and aggressive when articulating a figure on camera.

Confirming Target's online stuff is wonky. Latest issue was ordering a toaster oven to replace one that burned out for in-store pickup. Six hours later it was never processed so I just strolled over, took the last one off the shelf myself, canceled the order and was done with it. (And don't even get me started about whether they know something from NECA is in stock or not. A figure I was looking for was wiped out online and I found eight of it on the shelf while I was toaster shopping.)

That's just the cosmic forces of the universe at work to tell you to take better care of your digestive system as you get older. Toys? Hell no. Digestive regularity? Hell yes.

You don’t know the full truth behind your comment my friend. Without going into too much detail, let’s just say that since turning 40 I’ve had a few of these digestive issues that have landed me in the ER with thankfully no long term consequences or complications to worry about. But man do they make you feel like you are living on borrowed time in the moment.

Yeah, Preternia on Twitter is my go to for the sale links, since the figures never come up in standard search for some reason.

Also the 6 am Pacific drop was fairly widely shared. I have posts from yesterday and Wednesday bitching about it, so if you just read these threads religiously and obsessively you'd be in the know 😁

I didn't set an alarm for this because I figured I could force myself to wake up in time. That backfired. I woke up every 15–20 minutes from 4:30 to 5:40, then not again until 6:11. By the time I found Psylocke/Thanos on the app at 6:13/6:14, it had sold out.

I'll take responsibility for missing out because I didn't set an alarm. Still, it's incredibly frustrating that I want to give Target my money for this and couldn't within 15 minutes of it going live.

For those who have dealt with Target for exclusives before, what's the post-presale process like? Will they re-open pre-orders? Do I need to monitor online/my local store for stock?

Keep an eye on the item. If you have the Target app and an account, you can set it so that it will notify you when it’s in stock or order-able again. Once it’s closer to release time, and other stores might be getting it in, you can also check store availability near you. It’s sometimes helpful, but not always reliable. It’s hoops to jump through, but diligence can pay off.

In my experience waiting for preorders to re-up on target is like waiting for the tooth fairy to show up. You hang around all day waiting for that one item to get more units in and the moment you turn your back on the target app, BAM!! Suddenly you get alerts on X, Facebook, target and email about restock alerts and it was at the exact moment you stepped away.

This doesn't always work, but it's worked for me for the last three preorders I missed on Target - click for the alert when it's back in stock and get the Target app on whatever device you're on ALL THE TIME. I just got the out of stock Matt Hooper from NECA because I was sitting there editing and got the in-stock alert and could add to cart and check out in like three clicks.

That being said, Hasbro seems to come back into stock at like, 3 a.m. Hooper was restocked at 1 in the afternoon for me.

Additionally, as Ive been informed more than once Target wants exclusives to drive foot traffic, so they emphasize in store sales and only allocate a small amount for online inventory. Of course their store inventory system is like a schizophrenic crack addict and is random and unpredictable. Many things are easy to find in store and some are impossible and you'll never know which its going to be.
