I hope they give Kitty a second head sculpt that is younger looking/has the mask/cowl with frizzy hair our the back, so I could possibly pretend that the Astonishing X-Men uniform is actually an X-Men training uni and use it as first appearance Kitty.

Hmm. Great idea. That would change the figure from a pass to a buy for me.
 
I'm thinking about repainting Marvel Girl Jean's cowled head as Kitty. Paint the hair, paint the mask and I guess the eyebrows and eyes - whatever, it's close?

I saw that a couple days ago too and man that better be a McFarlane Lizard to go with Maximum, I would be stoked. Just give me demonic Hobgoblin too.
 
Mmm, I went to ebay to get that first Nimrod. Wonder if they'll update or change anything on the rerelease. I do have every other Sentinel they've offered so far. Sort of wonder what version of Onslaught that would end up being. Hmmmm.

I can *probably* pass on Kitty/Piotr the way I plan to pass on new Juggernaut, but we'll see.

They never actually released Onslaught with his head: the BAF was “Red Onslaught” and had a Red Skull head, and the actually Onslaught head was available significantly later as an add-in with Kitty Pryde for some reason. So just releasing a regular Onslaught, all in one box, with the correct head for a classic look, would be a novelty.

Yeah I recall those, just wondering if they'll go that route. That and a straight rerelease of the Nimrod are my expectations given they have gotten to a lot of older re-releases this year and last. We got that Silver Surfer, we're getting a mildly updated Mystique, there was another couple that I can't recall right now. Surely you'd want a deluxe Onslaught to have an accessory maybe? Perhaps a psychic effect that would fit in the new Savage Land Charles Cerebro helmet since the old one doesn't work in it.

I just figure they only got one run out of that Onslaught sculpt, and they seem to want to use the “deluxe” line to get more mileage out of those one-offs. If the Strong Guy rumor is true, I’ll bet it’s pretty much the same as well.

Yeah, that totally tracks. Like I said, it's what I expect, but they've surprised me before. Eager to see either way
 
I’m pretty sure I can skip that entire wedge of reveals, which is always a relief when there’s a bunch of other pricey stuff coming out.

The retro lizard with the classic head is exactly what I wanted from that character, so I don’t need to go back to the well for bigger, more savage versions. And I’ve no desire to retouch or get alt looks for any of my X-Men at this point (which I suspect will be saving me lots of money in years to come).

Would probably pick up an Onslaught with the original head and a first appearance Kitty Pryde. However, it's disappointing there's not at least one never-done-before character. Like the idea that every wave going forward needs to contain at least one, if not more, never made characters.
 
For the most part I agree that this group of reveals could be skippable.

They could.get me to rebuy Nimrod if they released him in all pink like he appeared in the X-Men cartoon... which they could release in X-Men 97 packaging as cartoon related.

I'm one of those people who displays teams in era specific looks , so Astonishing Colossus/Shadowcat will also be a buy.

For Emma I would buy it if its a new costume - my preference would be Generation X, but I suppose I'd buy the (awful) X-boob costume from the Morrison run, since we don't have that. Don't really need other versions of her at this point.

Maybe Onslaught will just be a deluxe release of the BAF with the pack in head... possibly released in X-Men 97 trade dress? But I don't need Onslaught again.

Lizard is one I never need again. The retro is a great early Lizard figure and we have a nice modern monstrous Lizard, so that would likely be a pass. Do Stegron instead.
 
Curious if some of these are X-Men 97. We know Emma is a character in the upcoming season (after briefly being seen in the first one) and it sure looks like Onslaught could be in the cards for season two. Even Nimrod could make sense. Only thing making me doubt that though is we're still a ways off from season two and I doubt Marvel would want them revealing that Onslaught is in the second season. Emma and Nimrod tie into season one so they could easily be part of such a wave. And given how well the first two waves did, sneaking out a buffer wave between the seasons makes sense.
