G.I. Joe Classified - News & Updates

I could live with a MTO every other year and just keep hammering out awesome figures and two-packs, the occasional small vehicle or playset here and there and they've got me for as long as I have money to spend.
For me the issue is more that I don't only collect Joes. If I did, I wouldn't care what they got up to. But between HasLabs and MTOs, in a very short order I got a Sentinel, ordered a SnowCat, ordered an Arctic HISS, and ordered an Apocalypse. That's a lot of very large, expensive items in rapid succession from just ONE of the companies I collect product from, from just TWO properties I collect product from. That's what makes it stressful (for me).

I think "regret" is too strong, but I definitely should've passed on the Rattler.

It just doesn't display well at all.

It's funny, neither aircraft really displays well but I don't regret them because I'll often just take one off the shelf and tinker with it. Like I get entertainment out of them even if I can't have them perfectly displayed.

The HISS, of all things, I mess with less but it's SO FUCKING HEAVY. Taking it down and messing with it is a chore. Compared to the Dragonfly which I sometimes just pick up and spin the rotor on a few times for a laugh.

Yeah. So far no regrets on Classified but I've skipped all the Marvel ones since Galactus (which I actively regret, I'll just never have a fucking place to put an action figure the size of a second-grader) and they haven't done anything for Star Wars that tempts me.

Honestly, my 1/18th vehicles are unruly with the amount of space I have. At least I've managed to stay away from all non-Classified Haslabs and MTOs.

Don't get me re-angry about the Rancor debacle.

I am such a massive X-Men fan that I could not resist what I consider to be the perfect Sentinel. I'm just very lucky it was the MTO one and not the HasLab one that spoke to me. Still, the thing is fucking huge. Apocalypse feels a bit more like something I grabbed just because of a lack of self-control and I don't know how much I REALLY want it. But I also don't want to cancel it. So..... toy collector problems.

I collected the VAST majority of G.I. Joe stuff under the 25A/Modern Era/ROC/POC banners. And my guy.. that is the core memory that forces me to be smarter with collecting any 1:12 vehicles and dio pieces and stuff; the memory of how absolutely ridiculous it gets trying to display all that stuff, or even store it, is a daily reminder that 1:12 is even worse.

I'm still annoyed that they didn't make it so that both the Dragonfly and Rattler could be disassembled again for storage back in the box. Hell even just the tail sections should have been made to separate by maybe pushing a button that was disguised into the body because they are so unwieldy to both display and handle. Then you add in the idea of any kind of storage when not displayed and that goes out the window pretty quickly.

I got the original Sentinel and he mostly lives in his box still. Not even because I want to keep the box but because it's either that or I just move him around the house to protect him from the cats. Galactus is currently weaaring one of my hoodies and lying on a shelf in the studio to the cats don't eat his fingers.

The Dragonfly doesn't bug me as much, but the wings not locking into place so securely on the Rattler would've been a godsend. Put a release button on the bottom or something hidden in a panel. it's space/profile is fucked up by the wings more than anything, even when they fold up.

I got the Ramp Rats shipping soon notice and this is where I admit I ordered Zanya from Amazon and Pulse with the plan of canceling whoever ships second and am shocked as shit that Pulse is shipping her soon too.

Amazon and Pulse dates for Zanya are really close. It's like a classic game of preorder chicken. I may keep both if it's a quiet toy buying week. I also won't be too disappointed if they charge at the same.

I thought I was finally going to add a fine law enforcement officer to the ranks because one just happened to pop up on the shelf at Target. The price wasn't in the system for the the store scanner. I asked an employee, sometime they'll throw out a random low price, but the guy's device comes up with a $40.99. I asked if he could do $12.50? He said no and nodded to security.

I'm trying to be less irresponsible with my buys, but if they had Zanya as a solo figure and not a deluxe with the scooter I would buy two and display her with both head options. I like her character design that much. But in this economy? The other Dreadnoks can walk to work.

That Zanya looks *so* cool.

I'm not even close to being a Dreadnoks fan and can't say I'd ever heard of her before, but if it weren't for the extra cost of a swamp-mobile that I don't want, I'd have ordered her day 1.

Gonna be keeping the masked head on Zanya a lot, I can already tell. She looks like a horror movie villain.
