G.I. Joe Classified - News & Updates

you think it's dumb they pump the gas for you?

That they must pump it for you, yes.
About ten years ago I was in Oregon for my buddies wedding (I was the Best Man...for once) and had to fuel my rental. When I got out the attendant said he needed to pump it as it was state law. I said ok, but I stood there awkwardly the entire time.

I said it before and I'll say it again, there's like, 4 originals I care about the rest all look the same
I was around for the straight arms. I liked them, but my interest really kicked in when they became more specialized in appearance. I haven't been in a hurry to pick up Zap or Hawk and right now I'm a little miffed knowing Hawk was $30-$40 at one of the area Walmarts. That would've been my sweet spot for a price. Once I decide to buy either one of these two, I'll quickly grab the other.

I did get the red and yellow divers over the weekend at Target on clearance for 50% off.

Oh and I am a bit embarrassed to admit I didn't know until last year that the dash has a little gas pump symbol with an arrow pointing to the side of the car where the gas cap is located.

It wasn't last year, but it wasn't until I started a job where I had a bunch of rental cars that this was pointed out to me. If you only drive your own cars, there's zero need to notice this.

I was in my forties when I discovered that refried beans are refried pinto beans. I guess I thought refried was a type of bean?

I remember when gas stations around here were phasing out full service so it was getting harder to find stations that still had an attendant. My father would have to fill up for my Mom because she didn't like to pump gas and I couldn't be trusted around a gas pump. Gimme a break, I was like 10 🤷.

I mean sure it's a funny thing to have a strong opinion about, but in case anyone hadn't noticed, we're on a message board about action figures where people have strong opinions about belt buckles and wired versus plastic capes and styles of wrist hinges. I suspect literally everyone on this board has strong opinions about weird things. (I just strongly dislike having people do things FOR me, and this is particularly strong when it's something I can do myself.)

And I just stopped to get gas at a place that I don't usually use, which had crazy Evangelical videos on the screens on each pump and their pumps were so trashed I had to walk to a DIFFERENT pump to read the signage to make sure I wasn't putting diesel in my Honda and for once someone who actually worked there probably should be pumping the gas if they can't be arsed to, y'know, have functioning signage. Even digital reads for the price of gas had wires sticking out like a kid's electronics kit experiment gone wrong. Gas stations are such fucked up liminal spaces...

But to keep it on topic - Clutch, Mutt, Shooter, and Countdown are all from New Jersey. I bet Clutch doesn't like people pumping his gas for him either, but I also bet Clutch has a euphemism for "pumping another man's gas" that is both childish and dirty. Mutt has to talk Junkyard down every time he rolls down the window to pay.

But to keep it on topic

Clutch: "Bro you gotta get back in there, some other dude is pumping your gas!"
Falcon: "I'm going to need you to say that in a way that makes sense to someone who isn't an idiot."
Clutch: "Some guy is talking to that girl you were hitting it off with at the bar! Get back in there!"
Falcon: "Is this a New Jersey thing?"
Clutch: "What?"
Falcon: "Oh, it's a Clutch thing. Got it."

I can't remember now... is SDCC good just for name-reveals but not actual figures, or do they show off stuff that'll go up for preorder the following day? I feel like they show maybe one new thing at the breakfast event?

So yeah, the June stuff should be the next big push, and probably where they reveal the next SDCC exclusive. Please let it be the Paine Brothers, with Snake Eyes V3 shown at the panel!

I always buy two of each retro card figure, one to keep carded, one to open. But I feel like opening my second female Crimson Guard because she didn't exist in the ARAH era as a figure. CGs are my favorite also, so I like the idea of having multiples of them in particular.
