G.I. Joe Classified Series

Oh yeah, I'm sure we're not too far from pre-orders. But pre-orders are also far from release date. So it's still far too long until I can get those figures in hand.
I just hope CC turns out nice and silvery. Hasbro's Marvel Legends department is really fucking up big time constantly making silver things with primer grey plastic.
 
So.. I tripped into an Entertainment Earth ad that had a Pre-order listing for the Cobra HISS Fire Team and I swear they look different than the set I bought a few years ago. Is this a set of repaints or is it just deceptive photography? The pictures in the listing look darker with more black than the prvious set. Am I crazy?

Are you comparing yours to renders? Hasbro's renders are always darker than the real thing, especially dark greys. My set from when they first came out looks like the StG shots with the destroyed Dragonfly parts laying about

Yeah I believe they are going up on the 15th.

I'm going to preorder the CLAW because it is a Pulse exclusive, and probably BACC. The others will be a wait until release purchase.

Anyone have any clue what the price will be on the CLAW? I worry they might go with $75US like the MMS. I'm hoping it is closer to the Trouble Bubble, but won't hold my breath.
 
I have been wondering about the price too. I bought several different RAMS because I wanted the TF Duke or NF Shockwave, etc, but always sold the vehicles off. I'm hoping to do it with the CLAW as well, and not in an effort to make a profit, but hoping to get the pilot cost down to around $30 or so.

I think Bludd is the only one I'm ordering on the 15th. I've been anxious for him pretty much since I started with this line next year. Once they do IG Destro, I'll feel like I have the 'original' Cobra agents completed since it's really the first three or four years that I see as the important ones. Hopefully they figure out a way to do the hooded CC as well though. But beyond those and the Night Viper, I think most of my Cobra wants are really gonna be bonus characters that look neat or what have you.

And Joes are kinda there for me too. Snake Eyes 3 is the big one, and most others on my list are just cool figures or pet owners, etc. So my must have list of pretty short, but I still hope to continue with the line for a long time. I've made plenty of shelf space!

For me Classified has become my "completist" line. It is the only line left that I make an effort to get all the releases. I am only missing a couple of figures (#00 Snake Eyes, Arctic Storm Shadow, variant Regal CC [lighter blue], and regular release Cobra Eel). That has come at the expense of other lines more and more. So I'll be in, for the foreseeable future, on Classified.

However I'm with you on really only needing a few more releases to feel like I have a good, solid lineup. IG Destro, the rest of the OG13, and the rest of 86-87 and I would be good.

Same for me. I've cut out 95% of my Black Series spending, about half of my Legends spending, but I'm getting just about every Classified except some of the variants that don't belong to a particularly sub-faction. When I was recently debating about cutting off all figure spending, Classified was the one that was going to make that hardest.
 
Oh man I’m not even CLOSE to being done with Classified. Once we have gotten to the point where they’ve made every single solitary version of ARAH Snake-Eyes and Cobra Commander, maaaaaaaaaaybe I could start having that conversation. Until I have Shadow Ninja Snake-Eyes in my hand (yeah, the translucent repaint of NF with red highlights), I’m not gonna be done.
 
I've never considered myself a collector, I just buy whatever's neat. Good on the Classified team for making so many cool figures, I'll keep buying them for the foreseeable future. Monkeywrench and SE are no-brainers for me. Bludd and CC are solid maybes (I like CI Bludd, and I wish CC had a little more bulk, he's almost too streamlined), CLAW is probably a pass for me, although I might take the Ru approach, sell the CLAW and keep the figure. Probably a lot of guys out there looking for multiples of the glider.
 
My Crystal Ball order is now “preparing” on Walmart. Fingers crossed it actually ships on schedule! I could be hypnotizing Joes and practicing the dark arts on unsuspecting Vipers by Thursday!!

Same here. I jumped into classified with both feet and really stripped down marvel and black series. Though I can't wait for FF and mutants.
 
So I just happened to look at my purchase history with Walmart.com to check on the status of Crystal Ball. I was able to order him within 30 seconds of him going up. Seems Walmart canceled him later that day and never sent me email confirmation of this cancelation. I contacted them and they told me that there was only 500 to sell that day and my order wasn't accepted. WTF!

Yikes.

He is still available to order at Walmart.ca (I preordered 2 the day he went up).

So I wouldn't count on what customer service says. I guess we'll find out soon.
