BBTS shipping going up to $6....

LOL, even with the $4 shipping, I almost always wait until like the 89th day to ship. Then like clockwork something always hits a day or two later. Right now I'm even doing the mental math do see how long I can wait prior to the 31st to ship what I've got sitting there to save $2. LOL! Because there's a decent chance that the Deadpool Wolverine movie figures will hit between now and then....

For me I like to wait at least 8 weeks between BBTS boxes, it gives my wife's nervous system a chance to reset.
They need a service that throws other companies on the box to buy you time.

Lifetime ago, my wife (at the time) and I were at the mall. EB had a deal on the late life cycle Wii and some games, and she'd been wanting one just to play retro NES on, didn't want to deal with emulators.

I wanted to get it for Christmas but we were together so how was I supposed to sneak it?

I went to Victoria's Secret and asked for a bag that I could put this bag into. At first one of the employees told me they would only do it if I purchased something, but when I explained what I needed the bag for, every other girl behind the counter was like, "Oh my God, that's so fun, I wish my ____ did anything like that." So they gave me the vaunted bag for free.

Apparently those months up to Christmas my wife had been wondering what the hell I would have gotten her from that store because it wasn't really her scene.

It's wild to me that people are complaining about this. The amount of money they must've been setting on fire to maintain $4 flat shipping is crazy, and $6 is still so much less than they must be paying. Obviously, they're not paying full price on every shipment, but my last PoL came split across four boxes and there's zero chance they didn't lose out a bit on that.

It's pretty rare that I don't wait the full 90 days before shipping. The top three inevitable things were death, taxes, and BBTS raising their PoL shipping. The fact that it's only $6 to transport a heft of privilege across the country is a bargain on par with the Costco rotisserie chicken.

I haven't seen anyone complaining. I'm certainly not complaining. 2 bucks is nothing in the grand scheme of things.

HOWEVER...like I said, like all things having to do with this administration, it was all avoidable and completely unnecessary.

And it's just the start. Our toys will be going up, as well. Hearing companies who have products ON BOATS and having their contracts nullified and being asked to pay 15-20% extra in order to get shipments across the water. On top of tariffs.

Oh it was pretty much the usual social media BS I was commenting on. I've been fully expecting to be finally priced out of this hobby for a while now.

For $4 I'd hold off shipping so that BBTS didn't have print multiple labels - I don't know if it costs more for them to ship one big box or four small ones but I'd actually feel a little bad having my stuff take up room in their warehouse when I could ship it for the price of a Dunks iced coffee. $6 is still totally reasonable and I'll just keep doing what I've always done - I check to see if I've got something processing in the next couple of weeks and save them a box, or I'll ship when I want my stuff.

I have no idea where BBTS management falls on the ethics scale, but if $6 shipping helps keep their warehouse guys employed during the pending economic cataclysm, no big deal. Hell, BBTS shipping is the LEAST of my economic irresponsibility with this hobby.

The Pile of Loot is the main reason I buy from BBTS - it would drive me nuts when Amazon or Target or equivalent would ship out things a figure at a time, and I didn't know when it was coming. Just wasteful from a resources standpoint in a hobby that is already environmentally questionable. One big box every couple of months has to be just a little better for the environment than 4 or 5 small boxes every couple of weeks. Especially as I think BBTS does a good job or calculating the needed box size so not a lot of wasted space or packing materials.

Also "why'd you get six boxes today?" Look, darling, I swear it was one order, I don't know why Amazon/Pulse/Gamestop/Bestbuy/Target/Walmart decided to ship five figures in five tiny boxes. Or in the case of Target and Amazon, often one tiny figure in one giant box. Controlled shipping helps me with my SHAME.
That is one of my weird little joys, seeing how well they 3D tetris.
This honestly is a good point. I'm not a MOC collector, I don't care if packaging gets dinged up in transit, but it's always kind of entertaining to see how they jenga'd the stuff in there.
