Muppets (including The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock)

Got Thog and Doglion from Durkin today. They look great, but even bigger than I realized! I’m going to do some major rearranging of my Muppets display, but I’ll wait for some of the NECA stuff to come out first.

How tall are they? Are these scaled to Palisades or Diamond?

Awesome. So uh, how tall are they?

As I said the size, not just the scale, is listed on the website. Each figure lists the scale and the specific size of that figure, in inches. Are you looking for an independent verification that the size that is listed is accurate?

Once Kenny puts Sal up for order later this month, I plan to order him, Thog, and Doglion. I'll have to annex another shelf for all these new Muppets!

I'm tempted to add some head articulation to these, but I really don't want to mess them up since it will take some work to add a joint. I guess I'll wait until I get them in hand before making a decision.

He mentioned to me he was looking an options to add articulation when I asked about the chances of getting Bobo in a suit.

Found Super Grover, among the rest of the full end cap of Haulathon merchandise. He was the first figure out of nine that I've opened so far.

Of course, I didn't open him until digging out from under about 10 plastic tubs, the Grover Kent disguise from my Palisades storage (bottom bin full of Palisades playsets, inside the phone booth, head wrapped in the trench coat). It was surprisingly easy to get the coat back on him (or maybe on him for the very first time, as I only ever displayed him as Super). The heads popped on and off easily as well. I could see and feel the torn soft plastic in his right shoulder, revealing the bendy wire. These figures were so fragile. But now, he's in the display as Grover Kent.

NECA SG comes with a flight stand that needs a bunch of assembly, and feels like it won't be sturdy enough over time to continue holding him up, two alternate gripping hands, and the letters S and G. He is slightly larger than the Palisades version, and has a ton more articulation - at the helmet visor, jaw, neck, upper torso pivot, ball hinge shoulders, bendy arms, hinged wrist pegs, swivel hinges at the hips, knees, and ankles (though the rockers feel stuck). The cape is the exact same style as the Palisades, cloth with ties around the neck and wrists (though Pal used elastic wrist bands).

All those joints can get him into some fun poses, and most importantly, his arms feel sturdy. Takes a combo of effort and care to get the arms to bend, but that's because the wire feels thick.

I think Palisades' face sculpt is a little more gentle(?) looking. The angle of the Pal eyes seem the slightest bit less aggressive(?) than the NECA. I'm using (?) because I can't quite nail the way either face emotes. The opening mouth definitely adds variety to the expression though.

I'm glad to have this figure, but I don't love that I'll likely wind up with more multiples of Grover than I really need. I already have more than what's necessary. Just a standard Grover please. But I'm sure I'll buy one as a waiter, if that's the only option, because I'm a sucker.

Honestly I save the clear-plastic-coated twisty wires that come with all the 4 Horsemen figures. They make decent enough means of hanging figures. Obviously they wont work as supports though.

Thanks for the review - can he be fully displayed as just Grover or is the emblem sculpted on?
