General Marvel Legends

Going a few pages back here but... the correct answer for the default pre-Legends Wolverine is Water Wars.

By FAR the best Wolverine figure(s) ToyBiz produced prior to like.. ML6 Wolverine, really. You had two different versions with cowl on/off and adamantium or bone claws - respectively. More hunched but beefy sculpt. Just a damn good figure(s).

Torch looks great but I've always been a sucker for the character in figure form. Super anxious to see the rest of them revealed and in pictures together and I will definitely be picking up a set despite my no more MCU mandate that I already recently broke with Electro and now Lizard.

Yes! As a kid I could never find it, and in the 90s, Canada seemed to have way fewer options for figure shopping. I did finally track one down in my late teens to display with my Giant Size X-Men box set... but it was elusive in my "bang figures together and make pew pew noises" era.

I just hope the Pedro Pascal headsculpt revealed tomorrow is way better than anything they've done so far for Mandalorian releases.

I'll say it... this figure practically -still- holds up. So good.

That Water Wars sculpt came back around in brown and tan, too:

I think the brown one was the one I paired with the GSXM box set, and the yellow one went with my Jim Lee team, which consisted of Monster Armor Cyclops, Secret Weapons Beast, MvC Gambit and Rogue, Light Up Weapon Psylocke (not sure of the actual name of the subline).

Ha, I’m like “wait, did ToyBiz make a 5” Hercules?”

Then after a quick Google I realize it’s Sorbo Hercules. Looking at those figures, were most of them just Marvel figures with new heads?

Yup! Eventually they did do some dedicated sculpts, but the first ones were all Marvel figures with add-ons.

But when they did get original sculpts, we got cool stuff like Callisto and, I believe, the first figure with Bruce Campbell’s likeness!

I remember for sure that Iolaus was the Archangel body without wings. When I was customizing 5 inch Marvel figures I bought a whole bunch of Iolaus figures at KayBee for like $2.99 each to use as base bodies.

That's a good question because they also made a 6" scale Xena line (that had much better sculpts and likeness). Bizarre choice.
