Marvel Megos

I was wondering if they’d put the four big guns in one set. Looks like they did.

So, two 4-packs to go.

Falcon will be one figure of the remaining eight. Doctor Doom has to be in one of the sets. And I suspect Wolverine and Deadpool will be as well, due to that Diamond release some years ago. Deadpool as a “classic” MEGO figure seems so incongruous. I’d prefer characters from only the original MEGO years. Black Panther, Iron Fist, Black Knight, Angar the Screamer…
 
Also surprised the big 4 Avengers weren't split up. I think that would have helped sales. However, not complaining. I'll be happy to pick these up. Hope they aren't difficult to get.

Doctor Doom
Falcon
Black Panther
Black Widow

If any of you still need the FF set, I saw a few at California Adventure Park at the Guardians of the Galaxy store yesterday.

Yeah, I was sorta hoping for at least one new character. The F.F. set was fun because I've never been able to track down the originals and have always wanted them, but I'm looking at my Hulk and Iron Man right now.

I wish the character selection was closer to the newer DC Megos: much better balance of re-releases and new characters. Though I am biased, given that Firestorm is my favorite DC character.
 
The Avengers was the set to break into two 4 packs. There are 4 Avengers characters that are begging for Megos since 1976 to fill out the roster. Hawkeye, Wasp, Vision, Scarlet Witch. Me and my friends wanted those so bad.

I would have

Box 3 Avengers: Iron Man, Thor, Black Panther, Hawkeye

Box 4 Avengers: Cap America, Falcon, Vision, Scarlet Witch.

Box 5 Bring on the Bad guys. Loki, Doom, Magneto, Red Skull

Box 6 Wild cards: Hulk, Daredevil, Dr Strange, Ghost Rider

Box 7. XMen Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Storm, Wolverine.

My Megos are all my older brothers hand-me-downs. I got them maybe 10 years after the Mego heyday.
Even as a kid at the time I never understood why they never made Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman, Lex Luthor, Black Panther, Cyclops, Yellowjacket, Vision, Magneto and Dr. Doom.
 
I am of the age they were my toys. I desperately wanted more. XMen, Vision, Doom, etc. I think I customized a Hawkeye with old West Mego parts. If Mego lore is correct IronMan was initially Doom but he didn’t price out. Flash and Green Lantern would have been in the next round.

That’s one of my toy instincts to this day. A character isn’t really made until they are. I don’t count “surely they are next” to mean much. Mego taught me at an early age you might not ever get it.

These were my favorites growing up, until Star Wars came along. Even then, my MEGOs were always favorites.

My greatest wants as a kid were Iron Fist, Hercules, Nova (Rich Ryder), and Hawkeye. I think I wrote a letter (more like scrawled a letter) outlining my choices, and sent it in to that old Super Hero Catalog (I thought they were the manufacturers!). I recall suggesting that Hercules should have one open hand and one closed hand/fist, like the Lizard, so that he could hold his golden mace.
 
yeah. I still have my childhood Megos. Mostly Marvel and POTA. They aren't really display worthy much anymore. They are 50 years old. So wanted more Avengers and villains. X-Men too; but that was unlikely as they weren't the chart busters then they'd later become. Something 10 yr old me didn't understand.

Man they should do more Spidey Villains too. Mysterio, Kraven.

The core of my Megos are from childhood too; many were beat up and as an adult I fixed or customized them before Figures Toy Company started making them and Mego started putting them out again.

Cap, Falcon and 12” Hulk are ones I must have gotten when I was a little bit older as they were in the best shape. Supes, Spidey, etc were pretty beat up. I don’t remember thinking about other characters that weren’t offered with the exception of Green Lantern. My mom actually sewed an outfit for him and later in my early 20s I converted a Superman figure by painting the hair and sculpting the mask to complete the figure. (far left).
As I got older I really wanted the FF but never pursued it due to cost so the box set was a great way to get those far cheaper.
I have many of the new ones that have come out over the years so now I have a few Green Lanterns. Now that the Marvel Megos are coming out it’s been great to see those figures I never had and hope like many of you they make new characters like Hawkeye, Vision, etc.
