Four Horsemen Studios Mythic Legions

I have a lot of the Spero Toys cat folk but I am also tempted by the Ranger pack.
I honestly find the Spero catfolk so much more fun to pose but the couple of ML cats I've got are kind of my favorites (Ba'lam and I stuck the black panther head on the black leather armor Armoury Knight body and he looks really nice).

I've mixed and matched a lot of the Spero figures, they can be a bit of a pain to pull apart but fun to kitbash and I do like them. I probably should get some of the ML cats as well, I haven't so far. (I've explained my issues with Spero's customer service in that thread...not high on them at the moment...)

In terms of catfolk - I'm really into Savage Crucible Brynyar - the primary head of which is clearly a lynx.

I kind of have everything I'll need from them, I think. I like what I have but the new waves coming up haven't jumped out at me much. I was able to get almost all the figures I wanted from them for 20 bucks or under so it was an easy set to collect at the time.

Aside from the KS head the ML cats are all the exact same sculpt (surprise) but it's a very good singular sculpt for what it is. The tail, however, is unreliable.

I'm going to commit petty larceny to get that figure. I'm saying it ahead of itme.

I'd like to add the Lion "King" and the female Pumas that were announced. I need to inventory and see what I actually have at this point. I was up to date but had been thinking about adding a few more.

Folks seem to be selling the ML black panther head and tail for not too much on eBay,

Can't decide yet on the SC Lynx, as already have the Lynx from Spero....

Probably should start a thread on "animal" warrior figures given there has been a lot the last 5 years.

Only animal-related characters I've purchased from 4H have been the Hyena gnolls and that Manta Ray thing, both as yet unreleased. I'd buy some of those parrot--looking warriors they came out with when the 4H were brand new, just to make some weird toucan tropical warriors. But other than the Hyenas none of these are figures I'd take "seriously" in a display beyond the sheer absurdity of it.

The Horsemen suddenly introduced and then promptly unlocked a 2,000 backer tier add-on to goose sales: this somewhat generic skeleton thief. Not only did they introduce this new threshold just before it was unlocked, but the paint on the figure itself looks kind of rushed. Is it just me or does the color of skeleton's knees and skull not match the rest of its bones?

Knees match the shins.

Humerus also doesn't match the radius and ulna.

But the way he's designed maybe those bones have the wear and tear. The humorous has the shoulder pad overlapping a lot of it. I could accept it.

This isn't specific to the 4H, but this is exactly the kind of thoughtless design in fantasy, generally, that I don't like. So he's a skeleton thief? Okay. I get that magic has animated a skeleton and that's how he's moving around and doing things and what-have-you. Why is he wearing metal greaves and fucking GIANT pauldrons? Does the reduced shoulder mobility and loud clanking help with all the thieving?

Also, the figure isn't just a shit design for the concept - it also has a certain smell to it. Like, if you get really close, you can take a deep inhale of desperation.

Better question is what does a skeleton need with items and money that it feels it has to steal? But that is a more of a philosophical question as to the needs and wants of the undead in skeleton form I suppose.

Maybe it's shoulder envy? He's just trying to achieve a silhouette, let him have this.

You try being a skeleton and finding a place to just hang out and rest your bones for a minute. They don't get access to third spaces! People call the guard on you, all the clerics keep casting Turn Undead at you, necromancers won't stop making you do chores, all the architecture is hostile and probably has a Monster Manual page. Tough out there postmortem.

Capitalism is hard on everyone.
Yes, yes, nothing screams capitalism like creatures in tunics casting spells and bare-chested men with swords going on quests in some bygone age does.... If you roll a 20 does the stock you bought from the proceeds from you last pillaging get a buy out offer? "You come to a room with two windows - behind one you can invest in ETFs, in the other Bitcoin - choose wisely!"

Nothing screams Capitalism like the leader of the thieves guilt constantly necromancying you so you can keep showing up to work.
