Skurge the Executioner BAF Wave

Generally speaking, I don't mind BaF waves as long as there aren't MCU figures in them I'm forced to buy. And truthfully, if there are characters in the wave I REALLY don't want, I'll look online for the parts I'm missing to complete the BaF. Most recent examples of that are Ch'od and Zabu.

As others have pointed out, if the BaF model is the only way we get some of the wackier, more obscure larger characters, then so be it.

Hasbro could slot those characters into a two- or three-pack if they wanted to. They did it with Nimrod, who required a brand-new sculpt.

I think its a mild handwave to compare Nimrod to Xemnu and Armadillo, but sure... they could release figures that way...

But honestly I'm more likely to get multiple characters I want in a baf wave than I am a three pack where two of the figures are likely to be redos or re-releases I don't need.

To use your earlier example... your proposed two pack of Enchantress and Executioner forces me to buy the one chatacter from the BaF wave that I didn't need. Instead I was able to add a whole pile of new characters - WBN, Phantom Rider, Warbow, Ai Aipac... and sure I had to buy another Iron Man, but at least it was an armor I didn't have. Enchantress was the ONLY one in that wave that was a rebuy for something I already had a decent version of on my shelf.

Your two-pack would have eliminated four figures I'm glad to have and one there is still space for on my shelf - to get the baf I want and a figure I don't care about. Thats a value proposition where I actually lose. I understand that someone like you who only wants the baf sees that as a win, but it isn't.

but I don't think the D-listers are out of luck without the BAF model.

For spidey or X adjacent D listers, maybe thats true. For Avengers or Defenders level C and D listers I think you are wrong

Without the BaF, Phantom Rider and Warbow are definitely not happening.

I know I won't convince you because you cherry pick the line and you want what's best for you. For similar reasons you won't convince me your model is better because I want ALL the characters.

But it definitely seems like 'your side' is winning, with fewer and fewer baf's released each year. Its just a bummer that even with just two bafs in 2025 anti-bafers still complain.

Literally asking for less for your money makes no sense to me. It's not hard to sell or buy just the pieces/figures if one really wants to go that route.

Secret Wars EASILY could have featured a BAF in those incredibly empty packages - that cost us the same as the Executioner Wave. But sure, I'll wait for Volcana.

BAF waves should be themed.
Why Hasbro would go from themed waves to hodgepodge waves is just crazy.
The "let's clean out the vault and stick them all together in a BAF wave" approach is lame.
This would be ideal. I'm even okay if the unifying theme is loose like "all are supernatural characters" or "everyone's in armor" or "troop builder wave" or something. As long as it's just not random-ass random.

This is my concern as well. To the Defenders point specifically, without the BAF wave model, there is a snowball's chance in hell that say, the Tanya Belinski version of Red Guardian ever gets a figure.

I honestly don't understand the Warbow hate. He's not even the worst figure in this wave. I'd take him over two-thirds of the Legends figures that we got from Hasbro in 2025 and I say that as somebody who bought the vast majority of those. If you just hate the character, then ok - I guess that I can't really argue with that. For me I'm much happier with my Warbow purchase than I am my Maximum Hulk or Battle Damaged Spider-Man purchases, for example. Now those piss me off in hindsight.

I love Equinox so much.. He was in an issue of Marvel Team Up by Claremont and Byrne I read when I was a kid and he was great. I remeber thinki g he was going to be big deal as a baddie in the Marvel Universe. He was one of the first custom figures I ever made when I took the lower half of a Toy Biz 5" Human Torch and the upper half of Iceman and with a modicum of sculpting putty and paint I made a pretty awesome Equinox figure. I would love for Hasbro to drop him in Legends at some point.
