I got the '03 Shredder in last week as I decided to keep my preorder with BBTS knowing full well that this will likely be $40 or lower in about six months. In short, pretty typical Super7 experience where the sculpt is there but the execution is lacking. The feel is cheap as there's still an abundance of soft plastic everywhere like with the turtles only Shredder's less bulky proportions mean he won't be as susceptible to gouging when moving his limbs. His range is actually pretty good. I know this is a bit of faint praise, but he's one of the best articulated Shredder figures I've encountered from any company. The lack of paint sucks though as the flat, muted, colors just don't translate the show into plastic well at all. Plus, his colors are just plain wrong. I never really noticed until I had the figure in hand and started looking at the show itself. His helm shouldn't be black, nor should the skirt. I don't know what Super7 was doing here. I also hate the little curve they added to the crest on the helm which appears to be entirely a Super7 flourish. I don't hate the figure as it does cast a fairly intimidating presence, but it certainly doesn't elevate the brand or anything. He's just a little better than the turtles and may be the last figure I get from this line because there's no way in hell I'm paying $65 for a Super7 figure (okay, if they do manage to solicit Heavy Metal Raph I'll likely hold my nose and preorder that, but that's it).
And what he's supposed to look like:
