Marvel Legends Maximum Series

Sixinchplus has made some beautiful Coipel Thor heads too. I’m gonna be happy enough with the Max as-is to not want to spend the extra money, but I’d definitely bite on a flying/hair-back 3rd-party head.

I think the ugly hair and oversized hammer are what's gonna keep me from buying this at full price. Everything else looks nice and I do like the outfit. But I'm not sure I wanna buy a figure at that price I have to try and find replacement parts for out of box.

Sculpting (and drawing) hair is very difficult (especially the "wispy" hair look ), and it is also underrated as to how much it impacts recognizing a likeness. Definitely the un-helmeted hair on Thor doesn't come across great from some angles.

It's amazing how the 4 inch Copiel Thor was done so right, hammer and all. That was my favorite figure in the line until Hercules came along. I know Copiel Thor was drawn bigger, thicker and even taller than regular costume Thor I'm just hoping it's not as tall as the RML Copiel Thor and maybe if even just slightly taller than the Cosmic Thor. Cosmic Thor is just ever so slightly taller than 80th Thor and the bearded Thor with Destoyer we got in the set.

Hard pass on Thor for me, rubbish heads, mediocre accessories. The handle piece particularly irritates me, back mounting a hammer of those dimensions is daft even if an artist drew it, and the fact you have to just use a handle prop to suggest it’s mounted on his back when translated to 3 dimensions rather demonstrates this.

The cape is nice but I’d have wanted it removable like the Beta Ray Bill one, and I can’t tell if there is shoulder articulation beyond pin and hinge rotation, so the new body isn’t really compelling.

What really seems sad to me is that the Ragnarok deluxe offering feels it was better value at 35 for what it included than this Maximum release.

My one concern with Thor was his waist/lower torso articulation - I couldn’t tell from the photos if he had anything, even just a cut. I just saw this clip of someone messing with him at Toy Fair and it looks like he’s got a ball joint waist! Love to see it. Very stoked for this guy.

Also looks like he’s got the cup joints in place of butterflies (or whatever they’re called - like Gamerverse Wolverine).

Form the videos I'm seeing Thor looks better on the floor than he did in the promo shots. I'm into it. I'm just not sure I need a replacement Thor.

The Thor, aside from not being classic, seems like a homerun. Price aside, Maximum is trending towards being a success and a more accessible and affordable import alternative. 3/4 solid releases. I wonder if wired capes will be limited to Maximum for a whlle...

To be fair to the ML team, they're using the handle plugged into the cape because that's how it actually looked in the comics. Even from the back, you could only see the handle, but you couldn't see a hammer-shaped object under his cape at all. You can absolutely hate it - but it's 100% the fault of the comics. The action figure is doing a good job translating exactly what the comic was showing.

Impossible to say what the ROM will be, but it's very obvious Thor has some type of butterfly joints. You can plainly see them in photos.

No doubt. Max. figures are universally overpriced, and not really by a small amount either.
