Star Wars Black Series

I've no sequel trilogy figures, but I'm sure ready to get some. Like I said over in the movies thread, I'm less a fan of the films than I am of the characters, but I'm a really big fan of the characters.

My movie fig target is typically in the area between movies 2 and 3 because that's when the characters are at their most iconic, settled forms (Clone War Kenobi, black-suit Luke, Boba Fett existing, etc.), but for the sequels I'd definitely want their Force Awakens looks. That way I can immortalize them in the forms they had before they started going off the rails. Pilot Poe, scavenger Rey, helmeted Kylo, Zori Bliss not existing, etc.
Can we compromise on Finn and Poe - ROTS outfits and you can pop the new heads onto the old bodies? :)

It works:

I would love some TFA figures to celebrate the anniversary, especially of the main cast all with new head sculpts. Finn, Poe, Kylo Ren, Rey, even old Leia and Han. Then any cool First Order army builder troops. But to be honest, I doubt we will get any.

Maybe years from now if Hasbro still has the license and are making Black Series. But there are figures I'd like to have from all 3 Sequel Trilogy films. I can't believe there was a "Search For Ben Solo" film on the table, bringing back Ben and reuniting the Dyad, and they passed on it! That would have been awesome!

But maybe now that everyone has shown such support wishing the film had been greenlit, they can add Adam Driver back into the plans for whatever Trilogy with Rey there is after Starfighter (if that does indeed still happen.)

In other Super Camel news, I went to Ross today hoping to find $5 Acolyte Jedi I could buy for extra robes and sabers. No luck though. Hopefully they'll end up in Ollies eventually. I have bought Yord and Sol a couple times each extra for around $12 a figure. But if I could find Yord, Sol, Indara, or Jecki for $5, I'd buy whatever they had.

I love extra sabers and robes.

I sold off all my sequel trilogy figures because I was so disgusted by the way the films turned out. I have no interest in any of those characters. Same with the The Acolyte (I actually couldn't remember it's name for an awkward minute). I honestly couldn't tell you if Ben/Ren lived or died at the end.
If I thought I could wish them into existence though, for those that want them, I would.

even old Leia and Han.
We did get a redo of the Old Man Han in the Archive line a couple years back, which honestly kinda makes the old original figures stick out all the more. It's not the best Han likeness they've ever done, so they could either re-release it with new face tech or just as-is and it would be fine, but because they updated him and nobody else, it makes the inconsistencies all the more glaring.

I opened the RotS Obi Wan finally. Messing with both him and Anakin I must say, these new renditions are much easier to pose. They hold some really good stances and can actually look like they're fighting. The new hands and chest I think help with that. So, as of now, I definitely like them, good upgrades. I just hope the plastic they used holds up over time and doesn't rip or just disintegrate like some of the old XMen movie figures that feel like they used the same type of plastic. And for the hands, I hope the wrist joints hold up. Obi Wan can hold his lightsaber unlike most of the older ones, so that makes me smile lol. I also opened Clone armor Obi Wan, and the body is dated and doesn't pose well, at least for lightsaber combat. The new face printing on the head looks good for the most part. Almost as good as the RotS version. But for some reason he decided to spray tan the bottom half of his face? Lol. Ill try to lighten that up some I think. Also, why does every Obi Wan that comes with the same lightsaber have it painted differently on almost every figure I own? Does he just repaint his hilt every 2 years? Lol. The blade also feels like it'll break so hoping he doesnt shelf dive after some time. I don't hate him, but I wish he would've been redone instead of just rereleased like this. Oh well, still a good looking figure anyway, for the most part.

I feel a little bad now that I dropped all my Rebels figure versions a while back. Seventh Sister looks real good. I wonder if she's showing up in the new Maul show...

I don't have any specific attachment to Voss, but I know he's a fan favorite. Young Dooku looks awesome but I'll probably pass on him. That Kyle though, that dude's mine. I feel like this is a pretty good blend of fan favorites. Something for everybody. Even the ones I'm skipping look cool enough that if space and money were no concern I'd be tempted to pick them up anyway.

Those all look pretty good! I know Quinlan is high up on a lot of folks' want lists; was hoping for Saesee and Agen myself, but I know they'll come eventually. Maybe in the main releases, since these are fan channel? Young Dooku is a cool inclusion, and it's really nice to finally get Seventh Sister. Feels like forever! Still hoping for Ninth Sister and Eleventh Brother. I like what they're doing with her mask, though, with the different looks. As long as the swappable pieces stay on easily enough, it's a cool execution.

Well, now I won't be able to unsee it. And now I need to see Cage as a Sith Lord.

I also feel like an idiot because I don't know how the heck I missed that alternate head for Dooku before. Cool that they're finally including alternate heads with single figures. Feels really overdue, and I really hope it's the norm for helmeted figures going forward.
