MVL Part Swaps

I cant decide if that DD stuff is worth paying (Very high price in Aussie dollars) to get stuff Id be using for Legends Daredevil. Its tempting....
It was 15 down for a 50 total in moose bucks. And it didn't feel great. But I really did like all the options, and DD is my dude, so happiness won out.

Also, on Instagram everyone agree that's an extra custom head. Probably not included. Would love to know the source.

Really wish Hasbro had just done this version right. The colors do look off, but it looks better on the VHS.

I personally like it but I agree it's a bit too light red . Maybe a wash or repainting could help?
Also how hard was it to swap. I'm thinking about doing it myself. Is it just a matter of carefully heating it up and prying it off? Or is it more complicated. Honestly looking at it more I really like how it looks And the colors while a bit bright look fine to me and I like that more "classic" hairstyle. How did you manage to remove it without messing up the skull symbol?

I think I have Mystique hair blindness from the different versions. All I can tell on this one is the arms are double jointed and pinless and she's an obviously different shade of blue. The shape and color of the hair is very hard for me to distinguish unless they're right next to each other.

Just heat. I always use a hair dryer, pointed at the top and back of her head, that’s where the contact points are for the inner pegs/slots. Be more careful around the hairline so you don’t tear the wig. The skull is attached to her forehead, part of the head sculpt, not the hair. Gives a good guide for where to line the hairline up to.

The VHS hair is slicked back, where the other sculpt frames her face more.

Thanks for the advice . I'm not that good at customizing but this seems so simple that it's something I *may* decide to do

Also do you have a recommendation for what kind of glue to reattach them with. I assume it's just some kind of super glue, which gives me pause because often when I try to fix something that broke off an action figure it ends up a mess. I might try to do it over the holidays with my dad because his hands are steadier than mine. Granted usually I'm trying to glue something small back on and end up using too much. I might have more luck for something like this that won't have the glued area visible. I also have the Walgreens Mystique and I might try to practice with that ( given it's the same sculpt and is pretty much identical to the retro card one in design) as a test and I can practice prying it off and then gluing it back. Then I'll actually do the vhs and retro card/VHS hair swap. Any other advice for the swap?

I used Gorilla Glue (gel control, green cap) but that’s only because it’s what u had around and open. I prefer Loctite (black bottle, blue cap) for things like this. I don’t think one is any more effective than the other in this case.

Well the only super glue I currently have is locktite so that's good. When I'm home from school in a few days I will see if I can find the Walgreens and VHS mystique to practice on and swap with the retro one respectively. I definitely have a good hairdryer. I assume I, should use high heat? I don't think this particular hair dryer would be hot enough to melt the hair or anything.

I use high heat. What’s good about this swap, is that you’ll find, once the hair is removed from both, that the gutters left in her scalp are identical on both figures. The hair pieces fit right into either head. It’ll just need some glue along the hairline and on each of the “pegs” that fit into the gutter slots.

Thanks . I might give it a try soon

What the head for Ruth? I thought the character was a total waste of time in that film but I like my shelves character-complete...
