ML Monsters & Supernatural

Hey, either Target or Walmart (I can no longer remember which) didn't carry the Ghost Rider movie line because it was satanic, so I'm not surprised there hasn't been a '70s Son of Satan.

Re: new Blaze GR, I cannot make the little flame that goes on the seat stay in place, and it's even worse when I put that rear backrest / spoiler (?) on. Can't find a decent shot of it to see how it works, what am I missing?

Anyway, to the thread topic, one I'm VERY passionate about!

First, I need a non-shit, classic WBN. The Strange Tales wave was my least favorite / most disappointing waveof last year and the lame execution of Jack Russel was the biggest letdown in the wave, a real achievement.

I need all these - in classic, '70s looks:

Tomb of Dracula (Classic/Colan)
Zombie Simon Garth
Frankenstein’s Monster
Blade Colan version
Living Mummy
Man-Wolf (F Star-God)
Stegron
Manphibian
1970s Son of Satan Daimon Hellstrom
Satana
Scarecrow Dead of Night cover look
Baron Blood
Classic Brother Voodoo
Lilith Drake
Ulysses Bloodstone

oversized figures:
1) It, the Living Colossus
2) any classic Kirby Monster, like Goom, or OG Groot, for instance (these could be rotocast, I don't need ML level of articulation)

My only Modern request is:
Mr Knight (comic version)

I bet we get Frankencastle before any of these. I hated that storyline.

I have not bought a single HasLab or HasLab-size ML, but if they rolled any of those out -- especially IT -- I would be so completely in.

It absolutely blows my mind that we have not received ONE classic 1970s Daimon Hellstrom, Son of Satan in the 24 YEARS.this line has been in existence,
Seriously! I get that it's hard to get a retail chain to carry a figure of a guy with a pentagram on his chest, but in the age of fan channel, there is no excuse left. Heck, half the folks who bought the modern Hellstrom customized him into a classic!

I want all of the characters you listed! Several of my top wants!

YEAH. THIS.

How is that Ghost Rider? Pretty much another Marvel Legend?

I really want it, but I have no connection to the character. Unfortunately, he's like the single most toyetic character in superhero comics.

I'm legitimately angry at how much I love that Ghost Rider. Like, I LIKE Ghost Rider but I don't LOVE Ghost Rider and I'm full on vroom vroom little kid playing with his toys with the stupid bike. It's delightful. (And the figure isn't as gummy/messy as his previous iterations, which I DO like, but this one just had a better hand feel. Which is a phrase I hate but sometimes it's the only way to describe it.)

Remember those halcyon days of yore, mellow ones? The glorious days of the Silver and Bronze Ages, when horror comics stood side by side on the spinner racks ("Hey, kids! Comics!") with superheroes, when you walked into your local 7-11 or drugstore on a hot summer day and was hit by the cool air conditioning and the smells from the perfume counter. You'd peruse the new comics, looking eagerly for your favorites. Then you'd pay for them and head right for the soda counter, order yourself a hot fudge sundae (Whipped cream and a cherry on top!) and then lose yourself in epic fantasy and fun.

:::sigh::: Yes, you do remember. Of course you do. Comics, drive in movies, Saturday morning cartoons, the late show featuring the classic Universal monster movies, baseball cards and arguing with your friends about who would win in a fight, Superman or Thor? I would not trade those days or those memories for anything.

@Lucid Silverback, thank you for starting this thread! ❤️

All of this except the soda counter was a regular part of my childhood. I remember my weekly allowance was $0.75 which bought me two comics and a Charleston Chew. I remeber when comic prices increased to 30 cents I went to my mom to see if I could get a ten cent increase.

And on paydays I could talk my dad into buying me a slurpee and an extra comic too.

I can still SMELL how my local convenience store smelled when I'd go in to look at comics. Any time I could scrounge some change I'd head there to pick up a comic or two. Such good memories.

I also remember when my parents would go to the grocery store, I'd make a beeline for the magazine area (this was in the days when parents allowed their children to roam all over the place. We were extremely naive to the threats posed by all the sickos out there). They'd always have a spinner rack there, but I'd make sure to go check out the "forbidden magazines"! No, not Playboy or Penthouse, you pervs! I'm talking the "adult" comic magazines like Savage Sword of Conan, Creepy, and the Marvel Monster Group titles! I was in a very strict, ultra fundamentalist home, so anything horror was forbidden...but I got my fix by reading through those glorious black and white magazines (and by buying comics that my parents wouldn't pick up on the horror elements. If Dr. Strange was fighting Dracula in a comic I was SO buying it! Ghost Rider was a favorite as well that somehow flew under my folks radar). That was a truly magical time for comics!

Out of all of them I'd be mostly in for Manphibian and the Mummy and Dracula. I think Halloween Jack is a decent need, but then so is all of X-Men 2099, which I didn't read, so will have to restrain my unfounded nostalgia for when they eventually start producing figures of characters I barely know.
