McFarlane DC Multiverse

Stopped at my local Gamestop today and they had 4 of the Collector Edition Joker figures but didn't have any of the platinum versions. They also had 4 of the Hush 2 Batman figures. It seems like they get 4 figures of certain characters every week. Hopefully more of the Collector Edition figures show up with the platinum figure available. I got Black Canary last week. I hope to get the platinum Vigilante & Osiris figures. I might get platinum Supergirl & Lobo if I see them, but I don't need platinum Joker.

I did buy the Marvel Legends Grizzly figure to make a Wylde figure for the Outsiders. He basically needs a speedo or a diaper.

Has anybody received Supergirl or Capt Marvel Jnr from GameStop?

Nervously awaiting mine, really do not want chase variants. Historically this has not gone well…..
[Narvar] GameStop: Your package with usps has been delivered. Rate your experience https://x.narvar……. The tension mounts😰

I got Black Canary and Hush 2 Batman very quickly from GameStop online. However, my Vigilante order still has not shipped. When I check the "Order Details" it says Order Status: Payment Error. I paid for it with PayPal and there was no error because I got a confirmation from PayPal, so I don't know what it's talking about. I also got an order confirmation and an order number from GameStop. Hopefully when the figures are available they'll ship.

I have had issues placing and paying for orders on GameStop and them not being visible in my account. They have always shipped, but it doesn’t inspire confidence.

My observation is that Todd barely even makes any Spawn figures anymore, which his own wholly owned character. I think we're down to a handful of figures per year. That's his own license and he's evidently determined that it's not a profitable line to more aggressively promote. If Spawn isn't worth it to him, it's harder to see him investing to do a lot beyond that. The Elite price point on the "Founder's Line" tells me that he knows that he won't sell enough units so has to make it up for it in the price point to make it worthwhile. There are very few IPs that I'm willing to pay a $60 price point for - especially when he continues to use outdated pinned joints technology and "diapers" and such on his figures.
Opinions without data is just exercising your gums. Well, my gums anyway. FWIW, I think Todd could’ve had big hits with comic accurate versions of The Boys and Invincible. Both are now long since done. They both live on in other media. Which doesn’t really do it for me when it comes to figures. Only a small handful of live action Boys figures have been made. Invincible comics and animated are essentially the same. But for whatever reason, no one can seem to get it together for an extended run of characters through several vendors. Missed opportunities in my view. I can’t think of an indie comic making much noise right now other than the Energon stuff. And most of those copyrights and trademarks are owned by Hasbro ironically enough. Maybe Ghost Machine has a shot.

Got regular and Platinum Captain Marvel Jr. and Vigilante from Entertainment Earth. Also Platinum Supergirl. Got regular Supergirl and Black Canary from MTS. Found Platinum Black Canary in a random GameStop.

my two closest gamestop locations have closed in the last two years. there are others in greater boston, but they are not as convenient in my orbit.
plus ive gotten fewer platinums by online order from them than i used to... so the chase for the chase gets annoying

Here's a question - rights-wise, is there any reason McFarlane couldn't start a Hanna Barbera line? I'd love a DC Multiverse-style Space Ghost.

I picked up Hush 2 Batman at lunch time from Gamestop. I really like this one better than the original version. The colors are just better IMHO. I always love a wired cape and especially the thickness of this one. That was a surprise. Lighter grays and blues. I also love the painted bat logo over the sculpted. Just my preference really. Basically this one just makes me all kinds of happy on a beautiful Spring Day in west central Ohio. Yes sir.

Jesus Christ what the fuck is that shit?

I was so looking forward to a CW Kara but holy fuck, that's not it.

I think that might have something to do with the face that at least for what little time remains, DC and Warner Bros have Todd wrapped around their fingers. So much of his output month to month is dedicated to DC stuff that it’s almost impossible to work in any spawn figures into the production schedule. Once his calendar clears up we might see more of a return to form for Todd and he’ll be able to make spawn stuff again. I can’t believe for a second that Warner Bros will dedicate the same resources to Mortal Kombat once DC is finished based on the output that we’ve seen thus far. Even though that brand is also owned by Warner Bros.

I have a feeling that, at least as far as Kara is concerned (CW and Movie), it may be another case of the paint mucking things up. It wouldn't surprise me to see the sculpt is there, just covered in way too much paint. I have a feeling Todd might be trying to kinda rush through things so he can put out as much planned things as possible before the line ends. I know his turnaround times have always been pretty decent from rumor/solicitation to release- for better or worse- but it does feel like things have picked up speed here recently.

Head seems too high up on the neck for Supergirl. Not a SG devotee but I think the Melissa SG is better suited to play her than Milly. Overall my favorite SG depiction remains the Bruce Timm version personality wise.

The headsculpts isnt the biggest problem on that Kara cause with lights and shadows it has a passing resemblance to Melissa. Her costume is literally halfassed to the max. 100% painted on BS, the boots are totally different, the shirt doesn't have the red lines on it. Gross.
