Mattel MOTU Chronicles Movie Figures

Got excited for a second; got a WalMart notification that Scareglow had gone back in stock, but alas, it was for a 3rd party seller for $64. Hopefully around the time the rest of the movie stuff hits, or the movie itself, there'll be a legit restock.

Just ordered three King Grayskulls, and a Laser He-Man just to drop two of the KGs to $15 each! Nice BOGO 50% off promo going on.

I'm just going to wait until tomorrow. I see no reason to pay the $10 per year for their service. They should just let us have the 50% off that for the BOGO 50%, but whatever. If I miss this figure, so be it. It's not worth an additional $10 to me. Paying for that doesn't even get you free shipping or anything mildly useful... just slightly earlier access. I know that I'll only ever use this site for their exclusives and nothing else.

I'll be using it to order the movie stuff early, but otherwise, yeah...you aren't missing much.

With the BOGO 50% off, I just threw in 200X He-Man and pretended the subscription fee didn't exist. It all evens out!! I'll probably end up grabbing some other exclusives this year, assuming 200X or non-movie Chronicles has some releases for me.

Will definitely attempt some kitbashing with the two. With King Grayskull being on the same body as Movie He-Man, and the latter more than certainly going on deep discount the moment the movie leaves theaters, it could be a really cheap way to upgrade and kitbash a lot of that line.

I couldn't believe the Buy One, get one 50% off applied to the New King Grayskull. I always get two of everything from Creations and was surprised when it took %50 off for one of them. I figured it was a mistake they'd correct later, but King Grayskull is still up with the BOGO 50% advertisement on it's page.

To our fellow Canadians discussing release dates, Amazon.CA may just be F'd in the head. Because I think the MOTU merch will be releasing in Canada on April 25th just like here in the states. People on Facebook have already reported and shown pictures of finding Chronicles Wave 1 in Canada. They keep saying they are mainly finding them somewhere called Canadian Tires/Canadian Tire Stores.

Is that......is that a thing in Canada? Can you get Tires and He-Man toys at the same time? If so.......I might need to move.

You should go to the Canadian Tire website because that is probably the best way to see what kind of services/products they offer.

They are big box retail with similar square footage to Home Depot/Target/Walmart (leans closer to Home Depot than Walmart). Most have a fully functioning garage at one end with multiple bays/mechanics to do pretty much any auto work (outside of body work). And yes they sell tires, along with pretty much anything car related (fluids, parts, accessories, etc.) They also sell hardware (not lumber/builder supplies), sporting goods, small home appliances, other home decor/storage, lighting/electrical, plumbing. They have a large garden centre come spring time, they sell a small amount of toys (little actual "action figures" we would collect) outside of Christmas. Then they expand their toy section.

Like I said in a previous post they are kind of like a middle ground between a Home Depot and Walmart but slightly different.

Anyway yeah they are showing up now in small numbers, including Canadian e-tailers (DJC Collectibles, etc.) so Amazon being off on their estimated dates isn't surprising.

You guys.... you guys... GUYS.

I got 'em.

Seeing it mentioned in this thread, I said 'what the hell, there's a Canadian Tire right near my office.' He-Man, MAA, and Tri-Klops sitting right there on the shelf next to some Nerf guns. All three cost over 120 bucks Canadian (they're 39.99 each here). But I got 'em. I've still got to actually do my job today, though, so I won't be able to open them up until I go home. But I am very excited.

Are they calling to you from your car like the Green Goblin mask?

Fuckin' dude.

I got back to my office a half-hour ago as of this writing and I still haven't actually done anything because I just want to go home and open up my toys. And I could! That's the worst part. I'm THE boss. I can literally do whatever the fuck I please. But I have over a half-dozen people that rely on me to get paid every two weeks, so it's a bit irresponsible to shirk my responsibilities just to go play with toys.
Also, I want to open these with my son and he probably won't be finished with school work until like 2pm. It's 9am. This is killing me.

If you're THE boss, can't you open them at your desk? Microdose that sweet plastic, my guy.

The ADHD is a killer. I had a few SWB figures on my desk for about a week. After a week of not getting anything done, I realized that having toys on my desk is basically the same as just going home for the day. Maybe not even that, because I probably do more work at home than I actually get done at my desk if I have action figures here, for some reason.

I've hit a good rhythm of posting on AT and listening to YT videos while/between doing quotes, taking phone calls, and doing all my other paperwork/computer stuff. As soon as you give me something tactile I can do away from the actual computer, I am useless and have no self control at all.
