Marvel Legends Maximum Series

They probably would have gotten me with that stupid Max. Spidey if he had the lighter blue.
I get that. I really do. But McFarlane always had his blue darker like that and the figure really nails his look and style. It truly is one of the best figures Legends have made. The fine line on his webs, the mobility & posibility, just a 10 out of 10 for me. Now the extra heads leave a bit to be desired, but the figure on it's own is damn near perfection in plastic form imo.

Oh yeah, I don't disagree. But I think Max figures are generally fairly overpriced, especially in the Canuckbucks. So you have to -really- grab me to convince me to spend that money. And I like a lighter blue, more cartoon-inspired Spidey. So it's all about my preference and not something Hasbro did 'wrong' or anything like that.

Kind of like how if Max Deadpool had been First Appearance I almost certainly would have gotten it, but it wasn't, so I didn't.

I think my favorite coloring/aesthetic of the newer Spider-Man figures was the first retro release. The blues and reds were pretty perfect, ideal logo at the right size, and they've since learned how to make the web lines a bit more consistent :) Throw in pinless and a distinct Romita Sr. or Jr. head - you've got a winner. Basically, that figure on the Maximum body.

Release the Max Spidey in Capcom colours, without all the bells and whistles, and I’m all over it.
