Jada Mega Man

I was incorrect. I did not get Wave 3 Mega Man stuff.

Due to the way I placed the order and the way Shop was presenting things, Shop said everything had been packaged with the other item that went out.

It was was all items but them, and upon delivery confirmation, it corrected itself.

With the first waves going on regular sale from $20 to $10, which is already disheartening, but seeing the new Mega at $30 feels like a notable nail in this particular coffin. I don't like saying that, but the way this line has been going, it's not looking good.

At least 3 reviews for wave 3 have dropped in the last 24 hrs on YT.

EDIT:
Ah! So the reviewer I watched said they are currently only available in Hong Kong. 😒

Yeah. EB Canada had them in their online system for a while but only this month did they actually show up in stores. I picked up one Mega Man. Someone picked up the other. The Robot Masters have not moved. I think it's cool but for me I just don't really care about most characters from the first game. I played the second one first so when I went back to the original it felt kind of bootleg.

Bubble Man has been a dream since my friend and I used to hypothesize Mega Man figures in grade school, but I've said time and again that Jada is just so slow and I think that's what kills them is, especially when they want to go deep on these things.

I am curious where the base price will rest after this deluxe wave. I doubt they'll be back at $20. Probably $22-25. To be fair, almost every toy line I currently collect has raised their prices this year so it wasn't unexpected.

The fanbase is way too split. For me it would have been a no-brainer to buy (for the most part) every $20 Mega repaint with their appropriate special weapon. Would have been cheap for Jada. But it sounded like most people wanted the robot masters. But that's a very expensive option for new tooling and the demand hasn't been high enough. Mega Man 1 isn't even the most popular NES entry so giving us a Street Fighter 2 "we'll make everything" promise probably wasn't a great idea.

Anyway, I hope it's not too long before we can get X and Battle Network Mega Man. And I do agree (maybe not your point but still) they should have just started with Mega Man 2.

Seeing the SF2 figures, based on a 16-bit game, sell well, and then saying you have no interest in selling figures based on Mega Man's most-popular 16-bit game, is madness. I get it, there's a lot of 8-bit NES stuff that's on your plate. Hopefully that attitude changes.

I really don't see Mega Man as a popular-enough franchise to keep making figures without, you know, making the things fans want to buy.

Yeah, I don't see MM as "huge" in the toy community as some of the comments there play it up.
Especially when there’s so many companies doing versions right now.

That said the obviously lost popular NES one is 2, and X makes sense because the robot masters from X were cool on their own right

I entirely get why he's not super interested in making a toyline based on X. We've had endless attempts in the past, and we have two very solid currently ongoing lines for X, even if they're not dipping into Mavericks currently. Mavericks aren't super popular in comparison to Robot Masters, though. So I'm not super surprised.

Legends, Zero, and Battle Network are all pretty frequently talked about. Plus the existing figures, model kits, and garage kits we have of those three subseries' characters go for exorbitant amounts over MSRP. I'm not sure how full lines would do, but if you stuffed in core characters like Tron Bonne, Roll (most expensive 4 inch nel figure lol), Zero from Zero, Aile, etc I think that would be a good avenue.
