General Marvel Legends

-Pink Heart Iron Man: this ridiculous waste of plastic had better lead to Monsters at Halloween, and not just regular characters who have become zombies.
I've long been baffled the ML team hasn't done this yet. When you have Marvel versions of Frankenstein's creature, Dracula, Living Mummy, etc., along with monsters like Manphibian, Man Wolf, Baron Blood, Belasco...HOW DO YOU NOT RELEASE AT LEAST ONE EVERY YEAR AROUND HALLOWEEN??? The ones I listed are barely scratching the surface, and they literally could get mileage out of it for years.
Jack of Hearts and Dominic Fortune have hearts prominently on their costumes. I'd rather see them.
SERIOUSLY! Damn Hasbro....JACK OF HEARTS is tailor-made for this! I'll only accept this dumb repaint if it is being done to allow them to tool up a classic JOH!
I know it was colored that way in the early comics, but the all red cycle for Johnny doesn't do much for me - especially the exposed motor and gears being red.
In those comics, Johnny was literally making the bike from hellfire...all the parts being created from his mind and made into physical form with the flames, sorta like a Green Lantern construct. I get it if you're not into it...just wanted to point out that there was an in-story reason for all of it being red. For me, this is the only reveal that I'm definitely planning on buying, as that era of GR is one of my favorites from my youth.

I have three reactions to this:

  1. Classic Spider-Man and his weirdo villains are so damn cool.
  2. I would buy every single character pictured here.
  3. It's pretty amazing that we're at the point where this collection of morts are the most prominent missing Spidey villains.

For someone who doesn't buy MCU figures I'm surprisingly tempted by Cassandra Nova and Cowboypool.

Stoked for Grizzly - even if he's going to be crazy overpriced for what amounts to a new head and some accesories.

The classic Johnny Ghost Rider is nice. I won't be able to resist that.

Colossus/Kitty pack will be a purchase, though I'm not blown away.

Abomination is.... meh. I've been waiting for A-Bomb since they did him in the 4" line but we get another Abomination instead. Not sure I need this one.

Punisher Mech isn't something I have any connection too... so I'll see if it gets discounted before I consider buying it.

The Falcon tease is great. Its mt most wanted 'redo' from Legends. And Smart Hulk is likewise awesome. I loved the run with David/Keown and David/Duursema with Hulk in that look and will order that guy so gast.

So plenty to spend money on even if only one reveal was for a character never previously released in the line... I guess two if I count MCU Cassandra.

I did not know that, thanks for the info. Makes (comic book) sense then for it to be all red.

I'd expect Grizzly to be priced at $40 like a lot of the other recent BAF rereleases, which I'll be fine with. We knew since 2021 he was going to be BAF-shaped, and that's better than having to pick up a whole wave.

Could not possibly agree more. This is one thing Marvel has over DC, has always had over DC, and *could* always have over DC: they have their own in-universe, canonical versions of classic monsters that are *instantly* recognizable as “pop culture” versions of those characters. Classic Marvel Dracula immediately recognizable as “DRACULA”, same for Monster of Frankenstein, etc. AND ON TOP OF THAT Marvel has “in-house” horror creations (Morbius, WerewolfBN, etc) who are quintessentially Marvel AND ALSO recognizable as at least the monster “type” they are. They have the market cornered for horror comic stuff that easily resonates with the public at large without even having to reference the comics they come from.

They could probably release the exact same Dracula/Blade 2 pack every year and sell them.

Exactly! It just seems like such a perfect match, and I don't get why they haven't explored a subline like this. Even more baffled that their first attempt at a holiday subline is that freakin' IM!

The sheer number of Punishers of late are proof enough he's still super popular, so presumably it's can't be too long before they reveal a full bells & whistles Maximum Frank. Go classic, stick in an optional coat and throw in a dozen or so weapons from the Classified line, job done.

Bonus points if they throw in the gun that shoots swords.

Love any version of Kitty - this release inspires me to carve out an Astonishing display, separate from my 7 case ikea Marvel comics universe one. 😂

On that note, the stream was a bummer for me in the sense Grizzly was the only new character to add to my collection. If I can find a suitable head that can give me a comic Cassandra Nova, I’m buying the MCU body.

They could do Frank from Dark Reign. Classic suit. Tons of weapons. Heads from the existing Punishers. Extra removable harness with a bunch more pouches. Ant Man helmet. And some of his other stolen tech/futuristic laser gun things. That would be pretty sweet.

Yeah, I'm gonna need every one of these jerks, and then some! Spidey morts are some of my favorite figures to get. Care in point: I'm dying for Hypno-Hustler to arrive!

I am not shocked Frank is getting a lot of figures this year. He is going to co-lead a Spider-Man movie. That means he will be a co-lead of a billion+ dollar movies, so time to get the merch out there

Wow. Shows how little I paid attention to the design of the MCU Hulkbuster that I did not notice at all that the Punisher Mech is almost entirely that figure.
I don’t think I’m mad, though.
I got to hand it to them, that's pretty clever reuse. It's such a niche design that few folks will be outraged by inaccuracy so long as the big bits are close enough.

Yeah actually reusing the MCU Hulkbuster for Punisher Hulkbuster improves the comic Punisher Mech design, in my opinion. The comic mech had weird proportions with thin arms and big fists and tiny legs. Now the figure has superhero armored proportions. It just looks a lot cooler this way.
