G.I. Joe Classified One-A-Day Beamish-Style Figure Poll - #90 - Cool Breeze (Marvel)

would she need to be repainted? I mean, I'm planning on using my retro cg as her with an alt head as is. But like...her art looks like the toy they announced
She wouldn't need it, but I guess it's more of a personal thing for me since I have the regular release version of the CG rather than the Retro version, and would prefer she match that guy. Just another way to differentiate her from the Retro CG they just did.

I definitely would like a Scarface, but I have specific requirements; I do not like the current Cobra Trooper body. It's got too much stupid modern 'armor' all over it and too much texturing and random bullshit. I want a Cobra Blueshirt like the G.I. Joe Greenshirt figure, and I just want it to come with Scarface as a head option.
If they do Scarface on the current Cobra body, I'd ignore it entirely.
I was actually thinking.... and I know you'll love this, but what if they did a blue repaint of the CG body for him? But another option would be to just use the Stalker body in blue with the same webgear (making him basically a more accurate retro Cobra trooper). But I am with you as far as NOT using the current Trooper body (or even the Officer body if they can avoid it). I would like a more pronounced collar like in the art they used for his file card above.

The collar is definitely part of how I see regular Cobra Troopers in their basic uniforms. That's what I want to see in Classified. A 6" upgrade to the ARAH or 25A trooper: simple collared shirt with the Cobra Logo and regular pants bloused out of regular boots, and black kneepads. No armoured forearms and shinguards, no elbow pads, no weird shoulder detailing. No modern-style ballistic vest or plate carrier. Just a dude in a blue uniform that Cobra Commander -clearly- does not actually care about.

I stay winning in not collecting army builders.

Agreed. Also, not the big, black, dishwashing gloves the officers and stinger driver have, but that's why I said stalker body because you could have his sleeves with the hands painted black as gloves that are tucked into the sleeves. But the CG body would kinda have that too.

BUT, if they were to do a new Cobra body for Scar-Face, I'm sure they would get a lot of mileage out of that for a retro trooper redo, and other repaints like the Extreme Conditions desert guys they did in the 2000-teens or so, or the air trooper guy with the new mask similar to what the Valkyries came with.

THIS.

Also: “new body” doesn’t have to mean “new parts”. The specific arms used for the Greenshirts (without the “sweater cuffs” at the wrists) are perfect for Cobra troopers, actually the only thing really needed to be “new” is a collar piece/upper torso for the blank “combat sweater” torso used for Stalker and a bajillion other guys. Legs/boots are easy too.
Like I don’t want Cobra troopers to be so stylized and individuated: they are just in basic blue bdus and that’s the point! Armor? Ha, no.

I like the idea that Vipers get armour and Troopers don't, because Vipers are the troopers that earned the right for CC to even care if they die.
At the end of the day, I don't think I'd really be all that upset if they just reused the Joe Greenshirt body entirely, with gloves instead of bare hands and different webgear/secondaries. Like, it's not what I -want-, but I could live with it over the more armoured up current troopers.

Yeah, that's a good point. I wasn't paying attention because I was just thinking about what collared shirts exist.

Or the body that Stalker/OG Hawk etc. are on but blue, for a retro trooper.

Yes to Laura (and I do think releasing the bare bones retro femme CG actually means we'll get MORE of them - there's no way they don't reuse that buck 3-5 times at least).

Yes to Scarface because I like specialized/unique rank and file dudes and he's the OG "operating above his pay grade" Cobra.

Yeah, that's a good point. I wasn't paying attention because I was just thinking about what collared shirts exist.
One possible way around that is to make the central Cobra Logo part of the actual webgear, which I might be OK with.

I recently got a cheap, bootleg version of the retro Cobra Trooper that I wanted just for the gear (and was cheaper than buying just the gear from an ebay person). And the figure isn't great, the helmet is warped etc, but the most interesting thing to me was the inlay on the chest, neck, and upper back is coming loose. I didn't even realize that was a separate piece! They could get away with using different arms, that same trooper groin and torso, but doing a new inlay part to make simpler chest and more of a collar on that is another option.

And now I just looked at the green shirt and actually... doing that in blue could be the way to go for this.

Yeah, that could work. Or do it over the pocket, like how the Vipers have it up over one pec rather than centered.

Mmm nah I’m going to need a large, centralized Cobra logo on any remotely “classic” Trooper. I wouldn’t be happy if they did the Affleck Daredevil thing.

I need these consistent design elements for a classic Cobra trooper:
-non-armored, COVID-style mask
-simple, planed bucket helmet
-plain blue bdus
-large central red cobra logo on torso
-simple “strappy” webgear

The movie's allure elludes me.
Ten-four to that.
I love De Palma, but that film would definitely not make my top favorite BDP films at all. Also the “hype” around it, socioculturally speaking, creeps me out. The worst dudes I ever knew had Tony Montana posters on their walls.
