Acid Rain World: Novark

How in the complete and absolute fuck do they get away with selling a 4pack of 6in figures for the price of 2 4in figures?
The pricing for their stuff seems strange but my guess is a lot of it comes down to how much paint and weathering passes any given figures is getting.

It's cool, but I'm still not seeing a reason to go from 18 to 12.
For me the reason is I never collected the 1/18. I was safe. Free. I could not be tempted. No longer.

Also feels like it can live in Star Wars, Joe, or even ML displays potentially.

I can see why they'd want a slice of that Army builder market. And I know we've discussed in the past that the costs are the same.

Just on the logistics of space and vehicles and dioramas and space and mostly space, it doesn't hit the world building aspect for me. But there are certain named characters and soldiers I would take in 1/12 scale. I'd like to see some more of the specific characters just to know how the art translates to this different Fidelity of scale. That would really move my needle.

There was also a period where JoyToy was nice, but Acid Rain ate their lunch in quality and art style. And now JT has found a groove and pulled nose to nose, so I wonder if that's another reason to change scale and pick a new front.

Acid Rain has experimented with scale and style a few of times before now, but I mostly stick to their 1/18 line.

I did pick up this 1/28 scale speeder they released and it's really fun in hand, but I struggle to find a place for it in my collection.

They used to do these limited soft vinyl releases.

And they also have these brick figures they release from time to time.

These 6” scale Acid Rain figures are very cool! Love the aesthetic and the power armor hydraulics on the arms and legs. The shoulder mounted weapons are a bit hard to get in place, but they look great.

Received mine from BBTS earlier this week! I couldn't get Skull guy's, uh, microphone? piece to attach to his back without tac.

What do you think of the hands? They're pretty hard to deal with on both my figures. Even warmed up.

Other than that, they're everything I hoped they'd be. Mine moved like butter right out of the packages. Very nice. I'm looking forward to picking up more — if I can find them.

I thought Skullwelder had a small missile on his shoulder mounted device, but you are right that it kind of looks like a microphone. I had to use a ton of force to get that shoulder mount connected. I didn’t try using any heat, just brute force.

The hands look sort of small, but they hold the weapons well.

The hydraulics on the legs kind of limit outward hip range. So the robot character, Proteus, has the most range.

Overall, I love the look of these. Do they have any opponents? I see the red Skullwelder sold out at BBTS. I just preordered the red robot now based on how cool Proteus is.
