McFarlane DC Multiverse

Anything is possible but some people have received their pre order shipments about a month after they are found in stores on the East Coast with some previous releases.
 
Yeah, McFarlane's store used to ship first, but these days it's usually slower than brick and mortar retail. I often see the figures in a store the same week I receive my shipment (and I live in Massachusetts, so that's usually long after everyone else has seen them in stores).
 
I got the Justice League and Hush 2 Batman figures pre ordered today. After seeing Todd's reveals from his online thing, I will definitely try and get Deluxe Edition Black Canary and Joker on the 18th.

But I'm still eagerly awaiting some kind of confirmation on Ivy, Black Mask, and Bronze Tiger. They've all been rumored, and I want them. And where the hell is Larfleeze?

They just showed off Bronze Tiger and Larfleeze at the end of the stream, so they're coming soon. Larfleeze looks pretty good, but it's weird seeing him not come with a Lantern. That's, like, his whole thing.

What the hell? I completely missed that lol. Did they say when they might go up for pre order?

Also, agreed. He needs a Lantern. Not a deal breaker, and I'm sure I have some orange Lanterns lying around from DC Classsics or DC Direct/DCC. But come on Todd. Give Larfleeze a Lantern.
 
To be fair, it was after the one guy's internet went out and the other had to stall for like 5 minutes by recapping everything. Starts around 53 minutes in the Facebook stream. They showed off Mongul/Mullet Supes 2 pack, Bronze Tiger, Larfleeze, Starman, Teen Titans Robin, OMAC, Batman Deadman, and recolored/wired cape Dark Knight Returns Batman. Don't remember if they mentioned a date, but I wanna say they're all going up on the 18th or 19th (but don't quote me on that)

EDIT- apparently they're going up the 19th. The 18th is 89 Joker and those other collector's editions
 
Larfleeze looking really metallic compared to other GL characters. I'd prefer multiple hands and the Lantern over reused orange Parallax fireballs.

The recovery suit Superman w/ Mongul looks alright, not a fan of that Superman's more olive complexion as it makes it harder to swap on other head options though. Shouldn't he have come with a gun given all those bandoliers?

Expect to see Canary's screaming head again on White Banshee before the line is through.

Probably only in it for Larfleeze as I imagine Nicholson Joker's on the horizon pretty quick here.
 
Man, that Black Canary is extremely disappointing to me. She looks like a white trash stripper. Plus that pleather jacket looks like ass and will greatly hinder her articulation. And those soft-goods fishnets just don't work on a 7-inch scale figure. The stitching in the back looks ridiculous, and they will be about as durable as wet tissue paper. Huge bummer, as I was really anticipating her to help finish the classic Justice League. But that's just… no.

It’s the “Real Fishnets” that scare me, but then I still have flashbacks to Toy Guru bragging about the “Awesome Fishnets” on the DCUC version. I would have much preferred painted on like Zatanna’s.

Other than that, Canary looks fine. It’s not one of my favorite costumes, but I’m in because, well…it’s Black Canary.

The sculpts on Freddy, Vigilante, and Supergirl (the other three I was interested in) look kind of derpy. At least I can pull Vigilante’s kerchief over his. Not sure why it wasn’t up on the livestream reveal. Haven’t seen the pics yet, but I’m in. This may be the only Greg Saunders Vigilante we ever get.

Freddy just doesn’t work for me, so I think I’ll pass. I wish they had just gone with the same yellow for the bracelets and cape outline. That and the face sculpt pretty much killed it for me.

As for Supergirl, I’ve said it before. Selling me a comic accurate Kara Zor-El figure should be easier than selling Homer Simpson a doughnut, but I think Todd’s about to go 1-2. It’s not entirely his fault. I never cared much for her FA look to begin with, but what’s up with the red belt loops? That makes sense for the platinum version, but looks ridiculous here.

Sigh. Is it 2027 yet?

This is why I would gladly sacrifice wired fabric capes in exchange for a No Soft Goods Guarantee.

This is also why I greatly prefer most of her Birds of Prey costumes.
 
I really like that Black Canary, and I will definitely be preordering her. I'm also curious to see what the other face plates look like. I'm a fan of the costume choice, ultimately as long as she was in fishnets I was going to be happy. I agree that the seam up the back doesn't look great, but once she's on a shelf I doubt anyone will see it (unless they have her posed backward to look at her cake).

As far as longevity, I have an old (and extremely hideous!) Black Canary from the Identity Crisis line, as well as a DCUC Zatanna. Both of them have fishnets just like this, with the ugly seam up the back, and they are both just fine after all of this time. As with most soft goods clothing, go easy on them and they'll last.

Outside of Canary, I think it's just the Superman/Mongul pack (I was really hoping for Exile's Warworld Superman here...) and probably Routh Superman and 89 Joker. I don't know that I've ever been more bored of Multiverse reveals...maybe I've caught "short-timers disease", because I'm honestly just feeling very blah about everything in this line these days.
