I already posted my comment 👇 in fwoosh yolopark thread. I figured we can start a generic TF models thread here since there's not that many options.

I decided to give Yolopark another try (I thought Megatron was a little overated for all the praise he got). I just placed an Amazon order for Starscream, he's $53.99. I kind of feel bad about selected the 4am-8am tomorrow morning delivery window 😆

I also recently picked up up a couple of the blokees blind boxes that are popping up at Walmart and the $9.99 OP and BB. The $9.99 kits felt a bit more solid and closer to an actual figure compared to some of the other figure kits I've bought like Bandai Star Wars and the various anime girl models. I liked them.

I really like YoloPark's 9"(?) Optimus and Megatron, but I don't want to re-buy them with less deco, and I think that will keep me from buying other characters if they go in that less deco direction. Starscream looks great, but I really can't get into another line!

I forgot to mention, I really like Starscream. He's been my most pick up and pose figure for over a week. I guess his biggest fault would be a lack of waist swivel, although I haven't missed it too much. His articulation seems more complex than Megatron, but then Yolo misses the waist articulation because the cockpit gets in the way. It's a bit of a head scratcher because they designed a butt flap that goes above and beyond. It not only angles outward, but also slides upward, yet they didn't come up with a way to pull his torso out a little to allow a twist. I completely missed the extra buttflap movement until Robo pointed it out in his review.
I think Starscream might have some extra die-cast bits compared to Megs and he seems heavier. I do like the heft and cold feel of die-cast as as nice change of pace from the usual plastic figures. Might have to get an OP.

I finally picked up a yolopark Optimus mold. The mini Megatron gun as a pack in with Nemesis Prime was a deciding factor in going with him over OP. Gun Megatron looks great in Starscream's hand and is like the finishing touch to one of my favorite figures I bought this year. NP isn't bad either, but his hips in the front kick motion are a huge disapointment, they flop straight down. At least they don't affect his ability to stand. Might go with the all plastic OP next.

I received my Yolopark AMK mini series 2 figures yesterday. Very happy with them. They all come with a piece of translucent Hound, so he's a BAF.

Where’d you get them?

So nearly a month after that last post, I received the wave 2 I ordered from Amazon. This assortment includes all Autobots - Jazz, Cliffjumper, Prowl, Hound, Arcee, and Rodimus Prime, with a bonus translucent Hound that can be built from parts included with each of the other figures. I got a case.

They’re a fun lot. They seem to have a few more moving parts per character. CJ got an ab crunch that Bee didn’t. Prowl has hinged door-wings and his twin shoulder cannons. Hound has his shoulder mounted cannon as well. Arcee is very slender, but still balances well. They all pose really well. My fav character of the lot Jazz, and he may be my favorite figure on the wave as well. But they’re all solid.

I just wish there wasn’t such a gap between waves. I think I went with the wrong brand in terms of character selection and frequency of release. The Blokees thread moves so much. This line feels like an afterthought.

The movement in the Blokees thread is due to the ease of making the Galaxy and Defender lines since they're more G1 cartoony. The Classics line and above Boshek mentions preferring aren't releasing all that fast at all. TFOne Megatronus dropped last month, the second wave of the Classics line, afaik.

Aesthetically, I prefer the yolopark versions. The sculpts are very close to the G1 animation models. The Blokees I've seen seem a bit exaggerated, more chibi. Not my thing. And are they blind boxed? Also not my thing.

The smallest Blokees are blind boxes. They seem to have two types of blind boxes, one that is very chibi-like or super deformed and one that's closer to classic G1? I still think the $40 G1 Soundwave will make my top 10 of the year whenever someone makes the thread here, but even he has some stylized proportions.

The Galaxy line. There's a Shining sub-line with light-up chests. This line is also blind-boxed.

The Action line.

There's also the Classics line, my fave. WM has Bee and Op for $10, but I've gotten most everyone since Arcee from BBTS at $20 each. They all have the light-up chest/head feature. Neither Classics nor Action are blind-boxed.

Sometimes the blind boxes have nifty little accessories. From one of the blind boxes currently at Walmart, I got an IDW OP with a blast effect and Kickback had a mini insect mode Shrapnel.

All right all right you Blokees freaks. You have your own thread. But thanks for pointing out the pros and cons!
