Tide‑Realm Corsairs Pirates

I have wanted Ghost Riders from different eras/regions and have been looking for a good pirate base for one. This looks promising, but I don’t love the scale. Some comparisons to other toy lines would have helped.

Being bigger than Mythic Legions it means they're probably closes to NECA or Storm Collectibles. They'll be noticeably taller than any ML, Classified, or similar.

I’m aware, but it still would have been nice to see direct comparisons. I’ll just keep my eyes peeled for a medieval knight or samurai I can turn into a Ghost Rider until someone decides to make six inch pirates

They LOOK like toys that pose and move awkwardly
You ain't kidding. How does a new $50 toy move like this in 2026?

Though I always worry it'll be Super7 who gets the license.
Evergreen.

At the very least, I can't imagine bragging about it.
This toy looks like what would happen if Super7 did an Ultimates figure based on one of those dollar store 5POA pirate figures from the '90s.

I decided to back the squid captain and his henchmen to add to the rapidly expanding fish dudes being released, which will soon include Savage Crucible and Mythic Legions figures.

I figure humanoid fish dudes can grow to the large side of things so not worried about scale.

I might be more swayed by the critiques these are not good fantasy pirates if it wasn't followed by people asking for this, like this is clearly better.

I might be more swayed by the critiques
In fairness, and speaking only for myself, my critiques aren't meant to sway anyone into not buying these. Unless I genuinely dislike a creator, I never wish for people to not buy their products.

like this is clearly better.
It is and I can -fill- this thread with the reasons why.

Actual good reasons? 😅

(I've never actually watched it, and no, I do not need to know what I am missing...;))

Shape language.
Storytelling.
Colour story.
Sillhouettes.
Visual heirarchy.
Consistency between characters, wardrobe, and the world (even if it's just that backdrop - it reads Fantastical Oceanic).

I think the best character design remembers Subtraction over Addition. And I think Tide Realm, rather, most of what Four Horsemen touches, tends to be Addition and PEMDAS over Subtraction.

I actually agree with all of these criticisms, actually. I would be such an easy mark for these if they scaled with Classified or with the Classics/Ultimates... but being even bigger than those mean these are a hard pass for me.
I would also be an easy mark if these were scaled with Classified/Legends or Mythic Legions.

Still about $25K from funding. They will need a bit of a burst at the end. The All In backers are doing the heavy lifting so far, with only $295 worth of figures for the $500 unlocked. I do wonder if they run the risk of losing some all in support if it looks like it might barely make it the funding level and people don't want $200 in excess credit.

Current totals:
Skelton captain 288 - crew 168
Human captain 214 - crew 175
Squid captain 206 - crew 158

So Skeleton seems to be the most popular, by just a bit.

Yeah, all of this.
